Question on the wrc stuff. Should I just block off the two vsv ports, the water injector, and that bung on the no.1 intake runner? I'm not going to try to use any of that system. I would like to run water injection, but I'll be using devilsown.

Just leave it, that's what I did. And you still having problems fitting that intercooler? If you want I'll trade you for mine, which is like the Mishimoto slim, and it's one of those "stealth" black intercoolers LMK. And just shoot me a text if you have any questions, I'm not on here too often anymore. 859-912-2880

i had to cut a notch out of my crash bar for my intercooler to fit, it slid right up behind it and made small brackets that attach to the bottom of the intercooler to i believe the bottom of my radiator support.. ill have to run out to the garage and take some pics for you if it will help.
im also using my stock bumper and crash bar too idk how much of a difference there is between the gt4 and preface. -------------------- st205 powered ss3 coupe

Ted please feel free to post up pics. New ideas are always helpful. I only have a few more items on the shopping list, and I will be ready to take the big plunge.

some pics of how I did my crash bar the front mount
i cut the lower fins back to help let more air come up underneath the crash bar, it now makes it weaker so im goin to put a 1/8th" plate bolted to the front for support, 36"x4" is what im going to bolt to the front of it ![]() I'm still playing with it, going to clean it up a little more and rattle can it so its clean but gives you an idea I guess This post has been edited by Ted95: Dec 18, 2013 - 9:41 PM -------------------- st205 powered ss3 coupe

you dont actually need to cutout the bottom fins completely, but i did just for better flow. it fit fine before i cut the lower ones out.

Already got the wiring for the ignitor ready to go. It looks like it goes to something nearby, but I just can't find anything!?!?

Looks like quite a project, engine looks beautiful.
It's been a while since I've been active here, but before you get everything put together, you may want to reconsider that SPEC clutch. The tabs holding the springs in failed on mine and one of the springs got lodged between the disk and the fly wheel (after bouncing around a bit). I'm not certain if the cracks in the clutch are post failure or if they contributed to it. I've heard from a number of people that they have had similar issues. I switched to ACT and haven't had any problems. I usually run around 10 pounds of boost for daily driving and have a full AWD setup, so there's a fair bit of stress on the components. Here's a link to the Google album with pictures of the clutch that failed. Spec Clutch Photo Album -------------------- ![]() |

Just received the seals and gaskets that I needed from TCB over in the U.K., and the new oil pump will arrive this week, which means that the motor will be ready for install this week. All I have to do is order the fuel pump, intercooler piping, and a few exhaust goodies, and D-day will commence. I'm stoked!
