Jetta oil pans breaking are a very common thing Dan, haha biggrin.gif

just get an OEM replacement and a steel SKID PLATE !!! or look for a hybrid (steel/aluminium) pan.

even a skid plate wouldn't help where i hit the road was really messed up...i'm pretty sure i saved the motor...soon as it broke i knew from the sound/feel/display wat it was and got the car to safty...but yea just getting a replacement whenever i feel like it...don't really feel like fixing it right now...but oh well either way its low as Sh!t and i love the way it looks...just...can't go over SH!T

eh its actually never really a big deal there is about 3" of ground clearance on my jetta and i can make it over 97% of anything thats in my way....this just happened to be a case of where the road i was on i was unfamiliar with, it was completely dark (no lights), and lack of attention...had i been smarter i would have been able to drive through it no problem
my only real issue is a small number of very steep driveways that only trucks go down
