94 Supra for $8000 ... strange? Options

So was on autotrader.ca and I found a 94 Supra for $8000 and I thought that was a typo. I emailed the guy and he said the car is in Florida and he would need to ship it to Canada. I've been seeing a lot of stories of cars being flooded by the hurricanes and being resold .... could this be one. I think it's too good to be true, here's some pics 94 Supra

where in florida, i'll go check it out if its close to me (miami). After looking at the pictures, I dont think they were even takin in florida, it doesnt look like 'my atmosphere.' I could be wrong tho.

There's nothing strange at all about it, for a scam. RUn, and run fast. Most likely the guy whom you're emailing isn't even in the states, much less Canada.

The car is currently located in Shalimar, FL- USA. Please be aware that the vehicle is admissible to Canada and conforms to all emissions/safety requirements needed to be imported to Canada ( I checked it myself on http://www.riv.ca ). Once again, the only reason for listing it on autotrader.ca is to sell the car faster.
This is a fast sale forced by financial reasons. My wife and I are expecting our first child in a couple of weeks and we need to make some financial arrangements before this happens. I already have tons of emails so you must understand that I must sort them out somehow. That is why I will take into consideration only the serious buyers. So, I want this transaction to be smooth enough as I am caught in the middle of some very important events and have little time at my disposal.
Vehicle is available for check out/pick up in Shalimar, Florida (for local buyers or for cash payments vehicle inspection/ pick up is available anytime during 5:00PM - 9:30PM Monday-Friday ). Also, shipping is available within Continental US/Canada.

It's a scam. I ran into a lot of familiar stories in autotrader/cars.com prior to buying my 95 about "I'm expecting a child" or "My son has a medical problem" so I must sell this asap., etc.

If it's too good to be true it usually is. I don't think this ad is legit.

It sucks how far people will go for some quick cash.

btw, on topic, he called out in the first line about not to ask if it's damaged, flooded, leaks, etc. shady. but then again, says that it's available to be checked out, but you have to send info to start talking to him. i'd not send him info, and ask where it is so you can take a look. or, just give a fake name/address/etc.

The best quartermile run on oem twins(*not* current T67 single turbo setup) was a 12.14 @ 118.70mph with a 1.89 60ft on stock stall on 18" Nitto 555 Extreme ZR's with full interior + spare and tools. DONT DO IT.

Theres about a thousand scams at any given time out there on MKIV 93-98 Supras, god only knows how many gullable young kids have been lured into them. :thumbdown:

Honestly, the only way to buy a Supra is to look at it in person or outsmart the scammer by demanding certain shots, VIN number for Carfax, or actually drive the car, or buy it from a reputable site like SupraTrader.com from somebody ONLY after you've driven it or checked it out well. If you see the price is anything below like 11 grand, its probably fake or a scam.

With things like this its always buyer beware.....and if it sounds too good to be true then I can assure you it is. Otherwise, we'd all be selling our cars and buying Supras instead.
