so like i just get back into town after a 3 week trip and i start working on my alltrac again. I got a compression tester while i was gone, and it shows that i have 150psi on all 4 cylinders. I also know i have spark. So i guess my fuel delivery is messed up somehow. A lot of fuel is just getting like poured in there, i can smell it in the air from my exhuast, it blows out all this white smoke, and i can smell the fuel in my oil too. Ugh i think i just likes to inject fuel like all the time. And idk if this is normal, but like if the wire leading the thick wire leading to the alternator and bolts on to it, touches the alternator itself, then 2 of my injectors activate even when my key isn't in the ignition ugh... crazy car... someone help! frown.gif

Make sure that all of your wires are grounded under the dash... I know that it doesn't really make sense but bad grounds tend to make cars act really crazy.

I doubt you`ll be able to get to it from under the car, I had to put lots of grease on my arm and force it behind the inlet manifold, its a pain in the arse.....the best way, if you can be bothered, is to remove the right hand side front wheel, wheel arch liner and get in from there.

You can get at it from the top.
Reach from the pass side between the strut brace and manifold.
It's way on the bottom.

Regarless, touching that wire should NOT cause the injectors to work.
The ONLY thing it should do if the key is out is spark and possibly blow your 100 amp fusible link.

It sounds like you have a short somewhere.

How does your engine bay look?
What condition is the harness in?

harness is not in the best condition and the engine bay has spiders in it. I felt down there and it felt like the supports intake manifold supports aren't even there, cuase i can feel a hole where i thnk there should be the bolt for it.

I have no idea whats wrong with my injectors, if they are injecting too much or too little. My injectors fire when the thick wire leading to my Alternator touches ground. It's really wierd. Ill try to go in from the top again. Thats what i tried earlier today, i will just try harder tomorrow.

Its the ground wire for injector circuit...of course it`ll get the injectors to work if its not connected (if thats the only problem of course) and you re connect it.....had the same problem on a 185CS...once that wire was sorted out, it started up first time and has run 100% ever since.

ok thanks for the help guys, i will definatly try my best to check out that wire. whoever put my car backtogether completely messed everything up and forgot the put one of the engine braces back on, and now i dont have one ugh! It was the previous owners mechanic, cuase i have never taken my car to the mechanic. Bleh, eventually im going to have to put the car back together piece by piece to see if it's all there. But i will check out the ground later today thanks again, and i will keep you updated.

I am talking about his problem.
When he touches the ALT wire to ground [or to his alt], injectors open.
This is NOT correct.............................................................

Obviously if the injector ground wire isn't connected, that is a problem.
Regardless, if the key is out of the ignition, NOTHING should make the injectors come one, ground wire attached or not.
What you suggested [check that ground] has NOTHING to do with his wire problem.

even with my key in, touching the ALT wire to ground shouldn't activate my injectors right?

The only thing to activate the injectors is the ECU. The ECU gives the injectors the ground signal to fire.
