Ok so my car is going to be disbled for a few days while it gets some body work done and I am thinking about doing a little more than just fixing what needs to be fixed wink.gif and changing the color, but I'm not so sure what would look good. I would just like some oppinions on if i should add like a body kit or just leave it stock. Or what looks good and doesn't look good. And what color or any other suggestion you think would be something good to do. Here are some pictures of my car as of 10 minutes ago.

I was planning on lowering it, not sure how much i should though. As for my budget; it's pretty good, I'm about to graduate high school; so i'll have a ton of money coming in and my 18th bday is right around the corner biggrin.gif so, i'm in the mood to fix my car up and make it quick. wink.gif

I plan on it, it's deff like number 2 on my list. I have to get my tail light and some body work done before that beast can go in. I keep getting pulled over because white light shows out of my tail.

if it were i, i'd put the body at first priority so i'd get curren tails (seeing that you'd need to replace yours anyway),
then get curren rear lip with oem sides and oem front splitters and get the entire car fixed and painted afterwards so you only pay once to get the things painted. leave the car emblem-less.

springs can be added later since they're cheap and only take a few of hours to install.
rims are ok i guess, but should be upgraded later when funds are sufficient. then i'd leave it at that until i save enough for a swap.

Curren tails, Black 18's keep the car white. And drop it with some Tein's then turbo it.

White's not working for me, I live down a dirt road and no matter how often I wash it, it still turns black in .42865834 seconds frown.gif tongue.gif

i think a lip kit and drop, with a set of wheels. That would be clean, simple, and hot like fire.

As you gonna repaint it anyway...

I suggest to throw a 96+ bumper with whatever front lips, magic lips or ssIII front splitters.

I'm sure you know, but first fix the damage and replace the tail light. Maybe sell the stock set and have that money go towards a set of Curren lights. Next, I would lower it. Most people go with TEIN S-Tech's and a new set of KYB GR-2 shocks and struts. Go pick out a nice muffler that you like and bring it to an exhaust shop and have them fab up some piping.. or buy the Greddy SP2 system. Extensions in front and back and a set of OEM skirts.

Ok....
So here's the plan, Tinting my tails, also I am thinking of putting some sort of body kit (sides for sure and maybe a rear lip and front splitters) on it. And either keeping it white or going silver. tongue.gif then adding some springs, then new rims, hopefully the some exhaust, then I want to do some sort of swap and turbo charge it.
Hopefully my celi can go in to the shop either this coming week or next to get the tail light replaced. And then I will go from there biggrin.gif

Sides choices are down to these two (I think):
Glydez

Springs then body kit, or body kit then springs, that is the question.

I think I am going to get some springs this week and lower my beast!

Just remember she has a vert, so she has those different skirts... If i were you, i would seriously go with Curren tails, the stock tails are ugly. These tails look amazing with white cars, and would add alot. Secondly if you reallly wanna paint your car, i would go ahead and "upgrade" to the 96+ bumper... I would get some nice rims, pending the color you paint it, a black rim will look sick with your black top and currens. I would go search under members section and look at some different convertibles to see diff colors and diff bodykits... you will see some pretty cool stuff.

Pound it out with a hammer? smile.gif Nah, I would just let a body shop fix it.

While your car is at the body shop, I would have them install 96+ side skirts (your first pic of skirts), and splitters for the front bumper and rear bumper.

They are going to repaint your rear end damage, so they might as well paint the skirts and splitters.

I would also have them install lower springs (Tein S-Techs), since you live in Florida and don't have to worry about curbs in the middle of the roas or potholes. wink.gif

Good luck with modding your car, you made a good choice to keep the car, as these Celicas run better and are more reliable than domestic cars with the 1/2 the mileage.

What's your plan? Do the work yourself? Do the work with some friends that know how to work on engines?

I know you won't do this, because it is a lot of money to put into an older car, but the smartest way to make your car fast, is pay Dr. Tweak 6 or 7 thousand dollars and have him swap the engine and convert your car to a manaul transmission.

I already have a manual. I was going to put a 3s-gte in it. I was going to get my boyfriend and some of our mechanic friends to help me.

I'm just going to turbo it and make it look like a normal little car, so people wont think anything of it.

I thought you bought the motor? You didn't specify which engine, specs, and where you got it from.

I just paid like one payment on it, so i didn't technically buy it and it was a 3sgte engine from a website i can't remember it was like jdmengines.com or something.....

if you're in florida, you might as well go with the 3sgte, since it's legal there and everything (I'm not jealous.... ok, maybe a little...)

I'm still contemplating on what to do. BUT!!!! I found another engine at a fairly good price ($1,850), but it sounds too good to be true. It comes with:
the motor
a five speed tranny
ecu, distributor
alternator
starter
throttle body
wiring harness (un-cut?)
a/c compresspr
power steering pump
turbo
and intercooler.
Is that a good deal or is it shady? Is that everything I would need??I read on another celica site that I would need a ton more if I just ordered the motor and it had a huge list (ie: AFM, ignitor coul, injector resistor pack, fuel pump resistor/relay ect), or would that be considered part on the motor? I have enough saved up to go ahead and buy the engine and do the swap of spring break if thats all its going to take... but if i have to buy all those extra parts that dont come with the engine, I may have to wait frown.gif

I don't really understand the difference? laugh.gif But I haven't gotten anything so it's not to late, is the clip better than just buying a complete engine swap?

The difference is that if you want to do a motor swap you will need to buy a clip. Say you bought a ST205 front clip. That would consist of the motor, transmission, axles, ECU, harness, etc. It is a lot better than buying just a motor because you have basically everything you need for the swap right there.
