My car keeps dying. Whenever I idle at a red light, or I'm in traffic, my check engine light comes on, and then slowly dies.

Then, I try starting it back up, and it doesn't work. But if I wait 5-10 minutes, it starts up perfectly.

Sometimes, it doesn't even turn over. I keep trying, and trying. It sort of turns over, then stops. Then after a million more tries, it starts.

Sometimes it stays running, sometimes it doesn't.

It's not the alternator, it's brand new. And so is the starter.

My oil light comes on, but I've changed my oil, and there's no leak. It basically blinks, it comes and goes.. at the most random times.

What's going on here?

Please try checking for trouble codes, then let us know what you got.

But the check engine light only comes on right before it dies.

Any other time, it's fine.

Should I still check it?
