as the title states... has anybody here had a horrible experience dealing with him?

he never really scammed me per se as i never had to pay for the item since he never finished it...

but to this day i still feel shafted after having to pay over $100 to ship something to lithuania yet never recieve a finished product over a 1.5 year time span (early 2006 til late 2007)... although i did get the original product i shipped back because he didnt want to recieve it because of VAT and sourced one locally instead

ya i kno he doesn't work on celicas anymore since he doesn't come here often and stopped replying to my PMs a long time ago... but still... when i first contacted him he was still active here and still introduced new parts here and worked on other members' projects too... yet he never finished smething he said would take 3 weeks but was prolonged for over 1.5 years...

i gave up contacting him back in late 2007... but while clearing some emails it reminded me of all this...

(fixed grammar)

this thread is retarded, Romas is a stand up guy that I would easily stake my reputation in a heartbeat. He wouldn't screw anyone on this website, and if people feel like they cannot communicate with him, PM me and I will help resolve any issues at hand. I think the entire moderating team/community will vouch for Romas. How could you think he screwed you at all if he never even received the item?

ok, i guess i didn't clear that up... he wouldn't accept the item due to the VAT and said he'd source one locally...

not that i'm trying 2 ruin his rep here... i just want the product that he decided never to finish...

i never said anything before because he was the only one that makes these custom items for celicas... so really, what bargaining power do i have? but i'm sure anyone would be pissed after not recieving an item that was supposed to take 3 weeks, yet recieved nothing after 1.5 years

^you got pm

Please, lets try to use grammar that we may all understand. Like I said, if you have an unresolved issue, there are ways to rectify the situation. Please PM me all the details of what is going on and I will bring it up the next time I talk to Romas. Thank you

I got my guage cluster cover from him, shipped my stock one and got one of his, was very smooth transaction and had no issues with the time it took, plus got a great cover in return, I cant imagine he would knowingly screw you, hes a good hunist guy. If you do feel wronged just talk dustin, there both good guys and I'm sure they will do what they can. Sorry to here you had a less then perfect dealing though.

it was my gauge cluster... he was going to make one of those custom gauge clusters that he did a while back (not just the cover thing)

You know what this is all about? It's about time. Romas has always been very busy person (that's why he quit with making parts for celis btw). I have met him in person, he build my 7afte and I have some DCW parts from him... yes it took some time sometimes (hope it sound correct since in this topic is grammar delicate theme wink.gif) but I can honestly say he always made his job and never took money for nothing. Also is true since he sold his celi he is even more busy than before... Last SMS I send him he answered after 4 days about... And it's just about lack of time. That's all...

Its a pure shame he doesnt create products for the Celica anymore. I dont know wether its time or money. However, Im sure he is doing quite well in whatever he has chosen to do.

As far as money is concerned I would have been willing to pay twice the price for his custom offerings. They were unique, beautiful, and flat out better than what I could have purchased elsewhere.

I wonder *IF* we had a group buy, paid in advance for products twice the price AND gave him a 3-4 month turn around time. Would he be interested? I think for what he offers and his skill I would be more the willing to pay the price and wait the time. This way he actually would make some Money and have some time.

did he take your money?

no. he didn't take my money. but i had already put money into the transaction. like i said in original post. i didn't get scammed. but i still feel shafted after i did put $ into this already (that shipping cost is basically 1/3 of what he charge for the custom work)

ya i know he is very busy. but i was already VERY patient. he gave me an estimate of 3 weeks. and after 1 month, i ask for update he is busy. that is ok. so i start asking for updates about once a month.. and soon, one year pass by, and then 1.5 years, and then all of a sudden out of nowhere without even telling me he just decide to quit doing celicas?

during this time he worked on so many other projects. dustin's HIDs, I believe your turbo project, he introduced the trd side skirts, duckbill spoiler, single and triple gauge pods.. i think he even sent a gauge cluster cover to someone here (defgeph i think?) during that time too... yet he couldnt finish my item.

he always assured me he would finish it and that it was near completion... it makes sense why i am somewhat not happy right?

i actually did offer him additional money if he could finish it, i even said if he did not have time to make entire custom cluster, i would be happy with just the cover but he reject the additional money and assured me he would get it done.

anyway, i have PMed dustin with details.. so maybe he will be able to ask doggy about it
