does anyone have a clue if 225/50/17 tires will fit on my st.. my friend will let me get them for free but i dont want to unless they fit

i dont know much about tires and rims. i do have a 17" mounted with 215 45. will a 225 45 fit? does it have something to do with the offset?tnx

225 45 should fit your 17's just fine doesn't really matter what offset you have most wheels offset average +40 so I'm sure you'll be good, and people here would recommend you run your 17's with 245/45/17 tires. wink.gif

it can depending on your lowered height. Other than that, thats a pretty big tire.

I believe pressure2 is running 245/45/17 on his 1.5 dropped celi with no problems I also tried on some of my friends volks with the same tires with my 1.8 drop and I didn't have any problems at all yes they are meaty tires I agree but they're probably the best if you want the best ride quality you can get for our 6gc. smile.gif

well i got them on but i had to take the skirts off. i will have to mod my aftermarket skirts when i get them but it looks fine without the skirts

presure2 has 225/45R17. so does Batman722. no problems.

Sorry for hijacking the thread, but I didn't want to start a new one on the same subject... I need to get tires for my new rims (17x7). My car is lowered on Tanabe DF210 springs.


Anyone know the absolutely biggest 17 inch tire I can fit with those springs without rubbing? I don't think I can do 235/45 but can I fit 225/45's? Help would be mucho appreciated!
