Who hears a car with an exhaust and runs to the window, turns the head, or runs outside to see what kind of car it is? Seriously, I know this is a lame topic, but I am curious here.

perhaps i'm the only one but i hate the sound of loud mufflers, i'm more of an engine sound loving kind of guy. ever drive behind a ferrari? biggrin.gif i particularly love the sound of a whizzing compressor wheel.
in my city, there is a large ratio of import enthusiasts in relation to our population, so i hear the sound of raspy exhausts everytime i leave the house and it gives me a headache.

x2. I prefer the sound of a good intake to the sound of a raspy exhaust. But I still look to see what is making the raspy noise thumbsup.gif I'm praying that one day it won't just be another beat up Civic, but instead a well-built car. And my efforts paid off the other day when I found out a guy in my town now owns an Evo X.

Every time i hear an exhaust I always look, but usually its some crap car... so I basically lost hope in seeing something spectacular... Though it does happen on rare occasion. But yeah I like the sound of an engine waaaay more than an exhaust...

Kinda funny though, I work in a very busy area and every time a car drives by with an annoying exhaust (which is like 5+ times a day...) a girl I work with shouts "RICE! RICE!" But then you go see her car and it has an exhaust thats just as big and annoying as the cars driving by... haha

Why do you even need to go outside and look? You should be pro enough just to know what kind of car it is just by the sound. laugh.gif

Why did the law make you take off your exhaust? I thought they couldn't do that so long as you have a cat?

I used to work around the corner from Speedtech, the crew who built my motor when they weren't busy with serious machinery, they would do their test runs right past my window - serious machinery, seriously often, and i never got sick of it.

Haha I love listening to the exhaust and being like "ooh, I hear a subaru" or "damn, there's an evo somewhere." I'm usually hanging out with a chick and they think that my interest in the sound of a car is the lamest thing ever lol. That means they don't pass the test =P

I work at a coffee shop and I usually hear different exhausts/turbos spooling/wastegates when I'm outside on break..lots of cars that are modified out in the Inland Empire. One time I saw a guy with a bunch of import magazines and I asked him what he was driving and he said "well, today its the rx-7. I have many cars." The guy has an Evo IX, RX-7, 2jzgte Supra, and an SR20DET 240. He comes to hang out with his gf and we talk cars while I make coffee =)

I also like to identify cars and trucks on the freeway at night by their headlights =) I'm pro at spotting police.

i do the same thing and 8 out of 10 times that i do it im satisfied, there are alot of well built cars here in vegas and a handfull of reputable performance shop that makes them possible, actually earlier today i saw a red well built mustang when i was at work, its always good to see old cats driving a well built car, this mustang was really clean cobra motor under the hood and you can tell that the motor is built, and as he drove off you hear a very nice rumble from the mustang...then one time i saw a trevtec(local vegas shop) built 2dr evo.. heres a link to the whole thread for this car and pictures from Dsport magazine, the 2dr evo is red now i last seen the car at sema show here in vegas last november..

HERES THE LINK FOR THE TREVTEC BUILT EVO
