Wow, that's pretty sweet. Get rid of the seafoam green lights and we've got a winner! How well can you see through the smoked lenses during the day? Do you have to run your parking lights so the light shines through or can you see the gauges fairly well?

How well can you see through the smoked lenses during the day? Do you have to run your parking lights so the light shines through or can you see the gauges fairly well? Smoked lenses are to smoked. I used 50% SL Llumar Foil, but now I'm going to install 25%. After spraying black, whole console became too dark ![]() What did you use to glue the cups down to the console? I Used this glue. ![]() I did installed very bright green LED's but photo's don't do justice. I'm sorry, I didn't planned to make a second one, took me over 15 hours to produce ![]() |

why dont you use clear glass instead, cus you painted the walls black and the face plate is already black. unless you wanted to dim the led's.

Can you post more specifications concerning the materials, i.e. size/diameter of the piping? A run to a hardware store should get me all of those items, and If I can find a spare gauge trim, I'm down to try this.

25% film will make it darker than 50%. Just so you don't end up buying something and making it darker when you want it a little lighter. This turned out really well though. I'm liking it.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() it's still not done, but since mine sticks out so much I had to install it to make sure it fits before I continue with the process. the trim I used came from those door protective trims at autozone, they have them in all colors, I grab chrome so it matches with the aftermarket gauges. I still need to add the plexiglass, smoked them and add a little idea that I have, once done I'll post more pictures. Thanks to the OP for the ideas. -------------------- ![]() |

center part is 4 inches long and sides are 3 inches long, in order to install it I had to remove the steering wheel lol.
yeah, I figure the plexiglass is the hardest, but with the right tools it should be a breeze, wait to see what I have plan for it tho, I'm gonna add a little something to the plexiglass right now I have no time to make ANY for anyone, I'm in the process of making 3 more right now, for a few friends, after those are done, if I'm offer a decent amoun of money for the labor I'll make some, the actual materials to make this one costed me just under US$10.00, because I reused a lot of stuff I had at home like paint and bondo, so US$10.00 on sand paper + plastic + glue. -------------------- ![]() |

Anybody wants to start making a 3D speedometer console like mine?
![]() ![]() ![]() When lights are out ![]() I bought tinted glass (no film used, just tinted PMMA, very hard to find) I cutted the glass. You can easily sand the flanks to make it 100% fit.
