hey guys ...... just picked up a non running 96 celica gt for 1000 bucks about 6 months ago with a half fast turbo kit . i wish i had pics ........... it had pvc plastic pipe as intercooler pipe and a 14mm socket welded in the oil pan for the oil drain and also had that **** plastic nylon tube you get for a boost gauge he had it as a oil feed to the turbo ...the hole kit he made cost him 400 bucks what a joke //////// going to give you guys the low down on the new project car !!!!!!

what she looked like when i first got her ....... looks good in the pic butt it is ruff

as i whas pulling the first piston out it fell into 5 peaces and the compression rings where broke in half ... thank god the block is fine laugh.gif

got new nipon 87.00 mm pistons

i got a rebuilt head for 350 bucks

as the first start i had some miner leaks like the injector o ring was twisted but it was an easy fix.

so i got 10.000 miles on the fresh engine with and still running like a champ ....... now HERE COMES THE PAINT ......dent ,,,,dent dent,,,

i welded up the front side lights and cut out new side light holes in the back of the fender for the sleeker look .. got them out of 2003 land rover fenders witch are very nice because they have a orange smoked color

there whas a ugly brace in the middle of the wing i had to get rid of rolleyes.gif

all taped and all primed ready to paint ..... i used a ford black .. the paint code is UA ...transtar product and allso clear

right after the over spray cleared out i had to take a pic ....... or two biggrin.gif

a day after the wet sand and buffed

BOOST TIME

ebey stainless log for 150 buck and 38mm turbonetics wastegate

polished up the air housing and paint the exhaust side and got the down pipe off of ebay .............. if you have any questions about this i can send any one links /////// turbo is a t3 with 63 exhaust wheel and 50 air

the new tial bov its like Christmas when i get home and this **** is sitting on the steps lol tongue.gif

and this is where i am at right now i took them today

im thinking of getting this front bumper .....NO OR YES ...

and the rota torque ....... bad ass

dont mean to sound like an idiot (though i prolly will), but i was under the impression to turbo a 5s you needed a 3s head/manifold, but obviously you made it work with a 5s head.. tbh im confused lol

^ Definitely is.

I like this build a lot, very clean but seems to be done right. Also, nice "Home Depot" front lip.

If your looking for 300whp just do a basic bottom end rebuild or buy a gen2-3 3SGTE + boltons. But considering you have all turbo parts, I'd recommend forged 5SFTE.

Depends if you want to stay with 5SFTE or go 3SGTE, I chose 5SFTE. How much power are you looking at making?

X2 go for 5sFTE, theres so many 3s around... + im gonna be doing 5sfte SOMEtime down the track hopefully sooooo... more documentation for me wink.gif

or possibly 5sgte biggrin.gif

I like the the lip you have on but the bumper you are considering looks awesome, it all depends like they say that the fitment is crazy bad. For the wheels I really like the oem you have, always liked five star wheels. Also like the pontiac grand am GT emblem you put in the back of the car.

LOL. I new about the emblem because my first car was a 1993 pontiac grand am GT and I bought that same emblem. My first bike was a GT Performer, first car Grand am GT and I hope soon I'll be a proud owner of a GT 6gc. But still havent found one for a good price and in good condition here in Florida.

It's fine. This thread has his numbers, plus a couple links on page three for oil pressure.

Yea just like my thread shows that's normal
I was worried to but if your tapped into the same place as me
its a return line so the psi reads lower than you would think
atleast that was my understanding from what I read in the links

this is a beautifully done Celica. Your celica may be one of the few reasons I tune up my celica. I have a couple questions I would really appreciate it ifI could get answers to.
With the exterior and astetics, where did you get those eye lids and front lip? and what car is that steering wheel off of?
And with the engine, is the head the stock 5sfe? and if so, how much boost are you running with that setup? if its the 3s, how do you get it to bolt up? this is definetly a noob question I know but how does that exhaust system work? Cuz I dont see headers running down under the block but theres still a muffler.
And how much of a drop in suspension is that to obtail that flush fit? I might turbo my stock engine and get 200-250HP just off my stock setup (5SFE, auto trans) but ill start off with basic greddy exhaust and a better intake from weapon r

THANKS MAN ..... smile.gif WELL I MADE THE EYE LIDS WITH JUST STICKER VINYL ,, IT TOOK A COUPLE TIMES OF MESSING UP LOL . I GOT THE STEERING WHEEL OUT OF A 99 CELICA THAT WAS AT A JUNK YARD BUT IM NOT SURE IF IT WAS THE ORIGINAL ONE .... I HAVE A STOCK 5SFE HEAD WITH 5 POUNDS NOW ... WITH A 3S TURBO MANIFOLD WHICH BOLTS RIGHT ON ... THE EXHAUST IS SIMPLE THERE IS ONLY ONE PIPE THAT YOU WILL HAVE TO MAKE COMING FROM THE TURBO TO THE BACK OF THE OIL PAN .. AND ALL THE REST COULD BE STOCK IF YOU WOULD LIKE ... .... I GOT CHEAP EBAY COIL OVER THEY WERE LIKE 50 BUCKS ,,,,, THEY GAVE ME A 3 INCH DROP ...... WELL WITH THE INTAKE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY BECAUSE YOU WILL NEED TO FAB ONE UP AFTER YOU BOOST IT ... IF YOU LOOK AT MY ENGINE PICS I DON'T HAVE ONE ON MY ALTERNATOR IS IN THE WAY ........... BUT YEA ANY WAY YOUR MAP SENOR WONT ALLOW MORE THAN 5 PSI .. AND IF IT DOES THE CAR WILL BUCK LIKE CRAZY frown.gif .... WELL THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR POSITIVE COMMENT .. ANY MORE QUESTIONS HIT ME UP

HEAR IS I PIC OF MY DOWN PIPE

3" tends to be a better option once you get up into the 300hp range, it will flow much better. or you can get a 3" cutout thats what i did, sounds amazingggg

Yeah. I hate them too. You're better off with the TRD 'quick' shifter. ACT clutch disc also has a quick clutch engagement. Engages smoothly as well.

Probably a weird question, but do they make athe ride alot smoother compared to the stock suspension? and do you know what brand those are?

I hate short shifters. It doesn't feel smooth, it feels clunky and awkward like it's not on right. The stock one is shorter than any car I've ever driven that was stick, so it's fine for me. I'd agree with that 100%

Piece of advice, eBay coilovers are a terrible decision. They rattle, die fast, and don't hold their level well. If you want smooth, get a real strut/shock setup like mine or spend the big bucks for the real coilovers. Not the kind that rattle and go over your existing struts.

how did you fit that? i see that it is a bit farther back in (to clear the deeper bezzle on the AEM gauge). i got the same single DIN holder and an AEM temp gauge, but am having some issues fitting it. and how did you fasten it to the sterio brackets/frame?

thank you. smile.gif

So are the gauges facing the wrong way then? Looks like they're angled towards the passenger rather than the driver...

i just fliped this to get it to fit the celly

? fliped it? but i do not see how that would allow for the plate to fit.. the issue i am having is that it is too long, and if mounted the way it supposed to be, the AEM bezzle inter fears with the trim to mount back on the correct way.

#gonna go and take a pic of what im having issues with brb.
