so it appeares there is much more work required than a backing plate, rotors break lines and pads. there are so many other options that play a role. the master cylinder, the proportioning valve for rear steel break lines,( the ones that goes specifically to the calipers, and the trail arms. man.... i bought this backing plate w a break line per plate and a caliper from someone on here, and allhe said i would need is a rotor pads and lines. and i still havnt found the how to on this website so if someone can find that for me,id greatly appreciate it. does anyone know where i can buy a porportaning valve?

The other stuff is just optional. The proportioning valve helps but isn't necessary and as far as I can tell by cross referencing part numbers on ToyoDIY, certain GT's and ST's got the same master cylinder.

I think I would trust a Toyota mechanic vs someone who is not. Then call a dealership and ask them, don't ask people on the internet and expect perfection. The proportioning valve doesn't need to be changed. Why ? because the stopping power of GT to ST is a minimal difference. There is nothing with this conversion to overload the system and make bad things happen. It's a simple process converting the drums to disks with the correct parts, I've done it to 2 Celicas with absolutely no problems. -------------------- |
