29, I've had the 6gc for somewhere between 2 & 3 months. However my very first car was a 5gc GT-S that lasted about 4 months before some jackass t-boned me with his Yukon Denali XL. I haven't owned a Celica since. But I had an 89 MR2 in between there mixed in with another dozen or more other cars.

I will be 32 on Monday and I just got my Calica this past November (practically 9 months ago) so I got it at 31. Just so that it's clear this is my second car ever. The first was a 97 Honda Civic.

95 GT, probably the best first car you can have!

^ As an ST owner, I'd like to disagree, but it's kind of true...OBDI means less emissions hassle and more ease of tuning all around, and the '95 is the newest of that kind.

Also have to disagree. The GT really is kind of pointless. The gas mileage goes to hell for an extra 20 hp. The V6 Solara gets the same mpg as a GT Celica. At least then you get an extra 80 hp and a bigger car.

^^ You'd just have to drive one tongue.gif I lost 3 mpg when I upgraded to a GT, that's hardly "going all to hell." And 20 hp is a lot in a small car like these, especially considering its not just 20 peak hp but 20 hp across the rev band. Not to mention the 30 ft lb jump in torque, which is handy. It's not what's on paper, but how the 5S pulls on the 7A. Totally worth it. But I'm not knocking ST's. I'd have an ST and still be in a proper car well before I'd land myself in a long list of other cars!

On topic: Got my first Celica when I was 16, now 22. So 6 years, in round numbers. By my calculations in this thread, that makes me exceptionally average.

EPA 28/34 to EPA 22/29 is going to hell. tongue.gif Mainly the city that hurts you. I just couldn't justify a GT with so many V6 or high output I4 cars that get the same or better mpg. Then again, if it had been up to me I'd be in a Civic VX forgetting what petrol was. laugh.gif

Im not crying about a couple MPG's. I got better brakes, better stock strut bar, better engine mounts (I'm going 3s), and more torque than you tongue.gif. By the time you buy all those parts you will lose the money you gained from the gas mileage.

And the 5s is a beast. I've had this motor from 145,000 to where it is now 222,000 and she still does work. With full suspension a GT can be an extremely fun DD. I hoenstly wouldn't want ANY less power as this seems to be a good minimum. Hasn't ever seemed pointless to me.

Mine's lighter.

I wouldn't mind the extra power, but I would miss the 7A's character and efficiency.

I'm 21 and bought my St204 when I just turned 17 (5 days after my bday actually) which means I've this car since 4 years.
I also bought my St205 last year when I was 20, so almost 1 year.

I wanna keep em both till I die, though the St204 will have to go due to lack of money frown.gif

I'm 24 for now.

Had my first Celica when I was 17 in February of 2005 (when I joined 6GC)

Got my second one (The Yelli Celi) in the summer of 2007 and that is when I sold my first one.

Sold the Yelli Celi in the winter of 2007

Purchased my third Celica in the summer of 2009 - traded it for my MR2 (stock at the time minus rims and stereo) in the fall of 2009.

I'm about to turn 28 and I've had my Celica since I was 16, so I've had her for 12 years.

BUT to answer you Tigawoods, my parents bought the car new in 1994 and gave it to me when I was 16. Basically one owner since she was new, 18 years ago.

A friend of mine has had his 95 GT since 97 or 98 IIRC. Still brand new with something like 125k kms.

I'm 27 and on my second Celica, 2 months with the 97 and I've fallen in love all over again!

My 93 Celica was my first car when I was 16, then sold to my best friend after 4yrs of ownership. She had it another 2yrs after that but the Florida humidity killed that car frown.gif

You were all so young when you got your first Celica redface.gif I know about the difference of legal age for drivers licence (here is 18, you got 16), but seems like all of you had it as your first car.

a bit offtopic: what are the prices of Celicas in USA? I bought mine (110.000 miles, '98 ST) for $3350 (2700€ here).

and back ontopic: I bought mine 3 months ago, at the age of 22. My second car, after I wrecked VW Golf IV last winter.

Hah, not all of us =P

The Celica was my 4th vehicle.

1. 89 Hyundai Excel - Age 17
2. 94 Geo Prizm LSi - Age 19
3. 02 Ford Taurus - Age 24
4. 94 Celica ST - Age 25
5. 95 Celica GT - Now

My ST was 3800 if I recall correctly, 114k miles. GT was 1500...ST was in much better condition when purchased, but after the wreck the GT served a better purpose for my project plans, and was paid with insurance settlement =)

I am 46 (bought it 4 yrs ago)and the Celica is perfect for work and tooling around doing errands. I like the ice cold ac and the lights go off when u open the door as I drive to work when its dark and arrive in light sometimes. Want to get a pickup too.
