there are really no aftermarket tail lights for the 6gen Celica (94-99) except

for Hatchback / Liftback

Afterburners from QuadConversions (pic below)

IPB Image

A very popular choice is the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) tail lights that were available from 96-99 in Japan. These are available from your local Toyota dealer and (less expensive) from places like ToyotaWorld.com

part #s
81561-2B240 (Left)
81551-2B300 (Right)
pics below

IPB Image
IPB Image

also there are the Celica tail lights form Eurpoe, similar to the USDM ones except the amber part of the directional is larger then the US versions.

IPB Image

for Coupe / Convertibles

there no aftermarket tails. There are the JDM Curren tails that are a direct fit and very similar to the US coupe/vert tails except they have a clear directional stripe as opposed to the amber in the US version.

USDM

JDM Curren

that's all.

Nice job Dustin, i was waiting for some one to do this, now someone add it to the sticky.

and 94Celi- a lot of people don't like the afterburners, they are a very ricey (IMO) look for the car, but again that's my opinion.

bable fish translation:
As for the tail of the roadster it meaning that those which are necessary for inside the tail have been even, f perhaps it is agreeable to the tail of the cicely mosquito, (the ^^) As for the photograph being to be synthesis, there is a strange feeling such as reflection and brightness and boundary line of light, but equipping actually, if it photographs, it matches more kana? ? <- Adding delusion, it is the picture which it made. Please pardon the fact that synthesis is rough m (__) m

lol yeah I guess someone photoshopped aftermarket Euro style RX7 lights on the Celica.

I'm not sure what you are asking.
If your car is a hatchback, then the lights will work.
I think these are the tailight you currently have

Will the JDM rear lights also fit the UK Celica?

IPB Image

The UK model has a slightly different rear because of the number plate height. Probably doesn't make a difference?

It will fit. The number plate is the only thing that is different, it doesn't affect the tail lights.

I really like these LED style ones, would I be able to do something along the lines of this with my US '95 GT hatchback taillights? How would I make a clear lense for them?

I really like the "Afterburner" lights, but they seem a bit pricey at over $400, are they available at a cheaper price anywhere else?

I want to have circular LED style taillights, such as what is currently on the '05/'06 Infiniti M45 and G35 Coupe, with the Sedan having a slightly different taillight design.... Without doing a complete taillight conversion, how would I go about re-creating the look?

This is the style I want to make:

'05 Infiniti G35 *Sedan* Double circle LED Taillights (I really like these):
IPB Image

'05 Infiniti G35 *Coupe* Single LED Circle, Triple LED strip Taillights:
IPB Image

'06 Infiniti M45 Double Circle LED Taillights (I really light these too):
IPB Image

What I am trying to go for is simply the LED Circle part, not the entire taillight area.... Could I get some taillights from either the G35 Sedan or M45 and take them apart, and modify the LED Circles/housing to fit into the stock Celica GT Hatchback taillight housing, and put a crystal clear lense over them (the housing would be painted body color, which is currently black...not ricer style chrome or bright silver)???

Can someone do a photoshop of these for me shown on my black '95 GT Hatchback (or another Black 6th Gen with the same bodykit??)

Here is a rear pic of my car:
IPB Image

If anyone can do the photoshop as well as make the rear bumper gloss black to match, that would be cool thanks!! What do you guys think of my idea?

Man thanks so much for this...I have the JDM hatchback likghts....but I was just looking for euro lights (you know, the round-ish ones) that I see a lot of cars with, cuz I figured they would complement the round headlights. I can't believe there aren't any available! Ugh. If I ever get rich I might go for the quad conversions....don't know if I'm willing to spend that much just yet on tail lights...so I'll see...

edit: hadn't seen this second page...hmmm....I want to customize my tail lights!!!

Step one- buy JDM tail lights
Step two- slaughter them
Step three- hope you don't f*ck up JDM tails
Step four- put back together

That is going to be more expensive than every other tail light, because those are custom. Not mass produced.

That is going to be more expensive than every other tail light, because those are custom. Not mass produced.

Those aren't even the JDM Tail Lights. They are stock. Look at the black linings. It looks like they took the glass lens part off the JDM tail lights though. And they took a pair of LED tail lights and broke it up and most likely crazy glued it carefully together. That those Tail Lights look very precisely done and proffesionally done. Doesn't look half a$$ed and looks very clean.

Those are JDM. Notice they are flush, not indented where the lines are. Those are the JDM tail lights. Trust Me.

they dont look like them, the jdm lining is normally different, but then again, meh

http://home.netvigator.com/~walslee/celica.html

but will i have to go to aerokraft-kaze.com to get lens like that, because the exterior lens looks different than a standard jdm.

The guy that made them lives in the UK. They don't have USDM lights in the UK. It only looks different because I believe he tossed the original lens and created his own. I know there is a thread around here about it.

This was one of the ones where he confirms..

And 95celicast wins the prize.

Standard UK tails, oven, unstick lens from main body, create all the internals myself (NOT some kit I just disassembled and reglued together) circuit board was created from scratch and etched myself, perspex was moulded to the correct shape to refit into the existing main body (which had serious modification to fit the flat boards in!), currently perfecting the way the lens fastens to the body.

Thanks for the positive comments, they have cost me a fair amount both £'s and time. Still for the only set like this on the planet I think its worth it.

Might consider making a couple more pairs but would end up needing to charge £300 for them.

the reason u dont see too many celicas w/ the afterburner tailights, is prolly because there about 400 bucks a pair at Quadconversions.com. Well at least thats the reason i dont have them.

"A popular choice is the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) tail lights that were available from 96-99 in Japan. These are available from your local Toyota dealer and (less expensive) from places like ToyotaWorld.com"

...You sure? I just went today, and they told me they aren't made anymore so I can't get them at a dealership. Just wondering. smile.gif

dealerships wont distribute JDM parts unless you give them a part number only. Don't walk in and say "Hi, I would like some JDM tail lights"

I've realized that I don't really like the JDM tails (don't wanna offend anyone, it's just my personal opinion that they look too much like my factory ones, I actually thought they were JDM after buying the car and reading about them here because they look so much alike...)

I have a red Celi, so I wanna smoke 'em, but then I worry that you'll be able to see the difference between the amber and red lenses and it'll look funny...

~sigh~ I'll figure it out. I probably have to red out the amber first and then smoke the whole tail, huh?

I really like the tails in the second link and if someone can make it or mass produce would be awesome.

been made similar to the way I made mine to be honest, good on them for trying.
Don't think I like the round indicator as well, looks a bit too much, I went with 3 straight vertical lines for my indicators, but would possibly try to have them bend around the curve of the taillight if I were to do make them again.

Unfortunately remaking mine are now well down on the list of my priorities, hit a concrete block that was just sitting in the road just after a dark corner the other month so am having to rebuild my front valance because of that, got some fibreglass front wings to put on after bonding in some vents. Also the vent I bonded into the top of the front bumper is starting to crack so need to tackle that too, shame its now winter so flipping cold out in my shed now bbbrrrrrrr
