I just had Lasik surgery on my eyes. I had pretty bad eyes. It's Friday night, and I had the surgery on Thursday at 11am. My eyes are still blurry. I'm pretty light sensitive too. I can't see as well as I could with my glasses, and the light thing is really bothering me. I hope it gets better. If it doesn't I'm going to have to get my money back, cause I'm definately not happy with it. Anyone else have it? or any advice for me?

If you go blind (im guessing not yet cause you were able to type the thread) please, do call me cause I was thinking of the same thing too and if you do go blind, i'll just wait for the next 10-20 years for robotic eyes instead. Gonna love those heat sensors, night vision, X-ray mode, and light particle sensing features from my ROBOtic I'S

Dang, hope you went with a reputable doctor and you won't have to file some malpractice lawsuit. frown.gif

Me too. I know if I can't see, I can sue for a ton of money, but I don't care. I'd rather see than anything else. I don't think there's any amount of money I would take to loose my site. They said it'll keep getting better for 6 months. I've got a check up in 3 weeks. We'll see how it goes then.

I am going to have it done when I am able to. They advised I didn't have it done for a few years since I just turned 18.

They numb your eye's when they do it, but as soon as that wears off, it hurts. They just cut your eye open and burnt some of it off. If you go to sleep before the numbing wears off, you'll be fine. Numbing doesn't work to well on me, so I felt most of the surgery and my eyes hurt as soon as I left the building. That doesn't usually happen. The pain really isn't the worst part, not seeing and being scared of anything touching your eyes is the worst part.

I had my eyes done 3 years ago. He did not freeze them enough... I FELT THE KNIFE ON BOTH EYES, when the flap is cut! Laser went ok, he had problems laying the flaps back down flat, tried twice on each eye. He appologized profusly. He gave me VERY VERY dark sunglasses and told me to sleep as much as possible for the next week.(I took a week off work). I had VERY high astigmatism and some nearsightedness. Checkup the next day showed almost 20/20 in both eyes. A couple of days later when the clear contacts came off, the healing realy started. My vision went to **** after about a week. Slowly though, it did get better. I am back to almost 20/20 now. I had very dry eyes when I got the operation and let me tell you, I now have an ENTIRE new definition of dry eyes. 3 years later, I still use drops when things get bad. I am finaly getting used to things being much brighter but on very bright days I have to wear sunglasses when out and about.

I wanted both eyes to have the same operation,ie: see far with both eyes and see close with both eyes. I think he changed that on me because now that things have settled down, my right eye sees great far but blurry up close and the left eye is the opposite. He told me that it was an option for older people to prevent reading glasses as you age. The only problem is he picked the WRONG eye for distance. It's not my dominant eye and I now get headaches ALL the time. I have had my eyes checked out elsewhere and they tell me that it could take my brain a few more years to adjust to the difference and rely on my other eye as the domminant one. The headaches are not nearly as bad as they were at the start, I can live with them now without tylenol.

Overall I would say that I am reasonably happy with the outcome. I was also told that about 75% of ALL who get this proceedure done end up wearing glasses again after about 5 years. I hope I am one of the lucky ones.

OK... **** happens, that's true. I'm not here for any promo or something... I just worked "a bit" at one private eye surgery (something like general practice but before exams). There was best equipment you can ever see... And that counts... Better investigation you have, and better equipment they have, the better results will come... I believe the best is LADARVision 4000 (you can find some info around the web) also you can read this about LASIK or this about LADARVision. Pity you can not understand Czech... I have wrote one of my semestrals about LADARWave and LADARVision, you should read it (50 pages of interesting reading wink.gif biggrin.gif).

However my point is: LASIK is not bad, bad are only people with LASIK in hands... recommendation of others is the key.
