does anyone know a method of removing the 180 kmph(110mph) on Jdm cars? Is it as simple as cutting a wire or is there a module to do this?

no i'm not joking ... an i have tried this before more then once.. yes it is a waste of gas once you get to those speeds and you can end up damaging something... but it shouldn't damage you clutch .. and don't expect to brake any speed recoreds your only going to get a 8 or 10 mph over but you won't get shut down ..

Honestly, though I don't think you'd make this up, I don't see how it's possible. The hazard lights aren't linked to the ECU in any way, it has no idea of if they're on or not, and why would that cut the limiter out? I should know, I know Celica wiring by heart pretty much. Unless somehow it cuts out the speed signal entirely. I'll check the diagrams.

*edit* Okay I just double-checked the diagrams, and the hazard warning lamps circut is entirely seperate from the speed sensor and ecu wiring. I see no possible way that turning the hazard lights on would change anything.

I wonder how many people went out last night driving over 100 mph with their hazards on though.... LOL!!!

pmsl @ the hazard lights idea. Pure genius.

You can just cut a wire, but I wouldn't. I think the ECU needs to know how fast the car is going for various bits and bobs, so I wouldn't do it unless you're utterly utterly sure.

I bought a blitz black box that seems to do the job well enough.

IM still getting a laugh out of this. If you were drunk or were dreaming I think It would be possible to turn on the hazard button and be able to drive beyond the limits, but if you weren't then slap yourself a few times and WAKE UP!!

Lighten up man! he did not lie, law says that if you want to go beyond the SPEED LIMIT you should at least put on your hazards to notify other drivers that you got for ex. a man bleeding to death in your car or somethin. smile.gif I think you are mad because you went out there and tried it smile.gif smile.gif

Lighten up? Totally false and incorrect information is being posted in the general discussion forum, which is for general discussion of Celicas, not stupid lies.

Sure, it may be a smart idea to have your hazard lights on when you're escorting someone to the hospital who's dying or whatever, but the idea that turning on your hazard lights disables the speed limiter is ludicrous.

You think I'm mad because I went out and tried this? For one, I don't like driving at speeds over 100mph in my car, and never take my car up that fast. Also, I'm not dumb enough to go out and try this, because I've spent hours and hours studying the sixth gen. electrical diagrams, and I also know that the hazard lights circuit is not tied into the ECU whatsoever.

Is there a way to dissable the rev limiter? I'd like to at least push it a little higher. I know it won't help, but it kills my 0-60 and quarter times when I peg on it. Maybe a shift light would be a better investment.

You guys do know that when you pull your e-brake and activate the brake light, it removes the boost cut on the 3SGTE, right? So you can run 16 psi no problem...

LOL at the dumbasses who want to go faster in their Celica.

Guess 127 isnt fast enough so you need to go 130, cause your going to do that daily driving.

Tweak you can also use your ebrake to go reverse at 90mph and keep accelerating with it slightly lifted. Just enough to apply the switch so your rev limiter is removed.
