So tonight was my last high school basketball game. Three year starter all that mumbo jumbo. Lost in sectionals tonight and I didn't play up to my potential... Something I have devoted my entire life up to this point, seriously, is done... What I wouldn't give for a chance to lace them up just one more time... It just doesn't feel right to know there's no more playing with the guys i grew up with in those blue and white jerseys..... Damn it's sad

these will be good memories you can past down to your kids later on - think of it as a good life experience

the worst part.... up by four with 3 mins to go.... i took a shot and got hit in the eye and no call... they took the ball down and nailed a three.... then i went out cuz i couldn't open my eye.... i didn't re-enter the game... we lost by 6.... i finished my season on the bench over a thumb into my eye.... never will lose the feeling... "what if" i woulda stayed in the game...

I had this with Football. My senior year, we made it to 2nd in state, AAA devision. Year after I graduated, they won state. I was way to small to play college ball. I was 6'1 and 265lbs, and too much body fat. Not exactly the best lineman on college level. Especially here at WVU. If you can play college ball, that would be the next step.

Nah, I dont have that drive anymore... I love high school ball, but it's enough for me... time to go to college and focus on my career

can always get together and play, just maybe not a real game.

I kinda felt that way my last soccer game, we almost maid it to state but lost the game before, not a bad way to go down. I always wanted to join an older leage and play but just dont have the time right now.

I know exactly how you feel Dustin. You spend so much more time with your teammates then your own family. And you become so close with them because you've shared blood sweat and tears. trust me, once you hit college its so freakin hard to keep in contact with old friends.

that is how it was like for me with my high school's Drama Dept. I was never a sport player, although I was varsity Wrestling for a couple years, but I had taken every class available through the Drama Dept. I had been in virtually all the plays and had quite a few lead roles. Its as if everything that you have built up to that point is now just tossed aside. It sucked major until I got into school and now I can focus all of that on my Computer, which I love as well.

I know how that goes too. I played hockey for ten years with the same kids...I was so sad after I was done playing hockey with those guys.

He used to be my neighbor even as we were growing up but went to a school 30 mins away because his rent were divoriced and he had to live with her... So many pictures, so many memories

I hear ya...played baseball for like 12 years, and then i tear something in my elbow, and its all done. Luckily for me, we started a lacrosse team, and i get to wear elbow pads, so im good to go. Id say play on a club team in college, that way your still active, but its not consuming your life. Thats what ima do with lacrosse.

i remember the last days of HS, i was the editor of the school paper, and the last issue was hard to send off to the printer. I remember thinking to myself, "what if this is it? what if these are the best days of my life, the best memories of my life, the happiest that this life can provide me?" Becuase as you leave, you cant imagine how things could be better. Change is hard, no one wants to let go a good thing. But almost 6 years after that day i can say with great assurance, you havent even begun to create the memories of your life yet. Just wait until you see whats next...

a new bottom: A few of my own team mates fault me for the game because I didn't run down the court after i got hit... and they hit that three.... so in a small town my legacy appartently will be the "pu$$y who couldn't tough it up for one play" and it cost us the game... seriously frown.gif

forget the game, you need to toughen up now. its a high school game... seriously. not trying to knock on how important it was to you, just trying to put it in perspective. i know how it feels to end something that has become a part of you, but there is no point in dwelling on it. just move on, remember the fun you had, and look forward to the fun youre going to have in college biggrin.gif. playing pick-up hoops at the rec center with college chicks>>>high school basketball, trust me tongue.gif

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.
