What do most people think of it, on non gt-FOUR celicas ? kindasad.gif

Personally I like the look, from the side and rear, and front, I guess it look a lil wierd from an angle sometime but I must say I really like the "solid" look of it, doesn't look cheap like some spaceship aftermarket spoilers. I also like it as a "memoire" of the 90s styling trends.

I ask cause I'm still debate if I would do that as a future mod...and what about the GT-FOUR writing on them, should I leave it on? I'm anti "fake badging" but I'd hate tampering with a real toyota part kindasad.gif .

I would only have it on a GT-4 or a look-a-like GT-4, thats my opinion.
For non GT-4 I would go with custom raiser blocks.

i love mine.

i have the writing on mine detailed with silver paint so that it stands out. i think it looks great, and honestly 99% of people out there dont even know what a GT4 is, so it really dosnt matter. its still an oem toyota part made for a celica. its not like your are putting on supra TT badges on your car or anything like that.

if it really bothers you, you can get it without the writing from doggy.

My 2 cents:

I like the blocks, and those of doGGy's (shorter version). It's not up to me to say if you dont have a GT4 it shouldn't be on the car. Its a part that came on a 6th Gen Celica. Just like the GT4 rearstrut brace or the GT4 front end. Its all OEM and interchangeable . Same goes for SS-III splitters (if you have the 96+ bumper)

But to the GT4 front end i would have to say only get it if you do/have done a swap or have turbo'ed your engine. Because the holes in the bonnet are there for a reason.

one thing about the shorter blocks that people do not realize is that the OEM blocks are tall for a reason. they are made so that the spoiler dosnt block your view in the rearview mirror. if the blocks were shorter, you would probably not be able to see anything out the back.

They arent blocking the view at ALL. They are right at the good height of view, almost the same as GT4 blocks...

I never was a fan of GT4 blocks... But once i saw them in reality on my SSIII (ssIII blocks) i just felt in love with them... At first - i removed the spoiler compleatly - but after a while i came back to them - and now i just cant imagine my car without this type of spoiler...

Most of the time the spoiler blocks never look good to me online. But in person, they look really good and flow really well. I love the way Natalie's car looks with them.

extra big spoiler (any one) on front-wheel drive car looks IN MY HUMBLE OPINION stupid...

(spoiler trust function for NON back-wheel drive has no sense, is just in addition weight)

Utter tosh.

Wing is there to add weight over the rear axle at high speed. You can have the biggest wing in the universe on your RWD car, and it'll do precious little until 60+mph. It needs airflow.

Trust me, at 60mph, the Four does not have a traction problem. It doesn't have one at 0mph either.

What the wing does is add weight via downforce at speed to keep the back end planted for the fast sweepers, which a fwd car can benefit from. Not as much as a RWD car - simply because it needs less grip from the rear tyres as it's not trying to apply power through them. It is, effectively, only dealing with an imbalance on a single axis (unless the driver is on the brakes).

I don't particually like aerodynamics on road cars for a very simply reason. If I lose the back of a car with a big wing, the wing stops working (no airflow over it when sideways). If I've lost the back because I've exceeded grip on the back axle, as she rotates around the downforce stops, and I've even less grip to try to regain control. It's not nice.

I'm simply not good enough to deal with that, so I choose to run with a spoiler to prvent rear end lift, but not actively add downforce.
