Ok guys, as of now I've put my order on all necessary parts to make the gt-four front end conversion.
So far I've estimated the total cost of the part, including shipping, custom/duties, to around 1600$, in Canada.

I'll post pics as it goes, I might change teh color of the car to white, if not, a similar blue that I have. wink.gif

No foglamps for now, I got a pair of universale driving light I might try to put into the sockets. The hood vents should be coming with the hood and bumper on my last order..

Well I got some more pics up.

The lowering springs are in :

And I test fitted the spoilers blocks, really happy with it, its looks so bulky and tuff in real life versus photos, so cool smile.gif

And the room that hosts the parts while waiting for the rest laugh.gif

That's it for today biggrin.gif

Alright, after 8 freaking hours, I installed my springs myself, despite the attemps I didn't save the rear sway bar links...oh well, its still gonna be cheaper than if I made them installed by someone instead. biggrin.gif

the end links are always the worst to remove... so far, i've always found ways to remove them.. even on my old rusted 5th gen which took me 2 hours.

anyway, rayme your car's looking good. are you repainting the gt4 parts to match the current color or are you getting a whole paintjob all together?

I was able to save the endlinks. Yeah they were rusted but I hammered the inbus right in very hard so it had alot of grip. When order my whiteline swaybar I will order a set of stiffer endlinks too.

wow this is an exciting thread! keep it up! looking good man... yeah spoilerless is the way to go if your planning to drop it to the ground. can't wait till the project is complete but for some reason its alot more sweeter when the project is in progress there just so much feeling when your putting on those new raiser blocks, springs, looking at your ride from different angles nto to mention spending hours and hours... its all for the pride and joy!

Make sure you tighten the end links as hard as you can or you'll start hearing klunking noises when going over bumps.

i'm sitting here waiting anxiously for the truck.. where's that damn truck! aahhh.. my head's going to explode!! IPB Image

awesome! i was just about to PM you to ask how your conversion was going..
i've just started mine, just to let you know, it'll be a b**ch to put the GT4 reinforcement bar on.. it needs to be modified a little bit to fit. don't worry though, i'll let you know what i did.

btw, did you order the GT4 foglamps too?

I didn't order the crash bar, I'll modify the stock one instead. And I didn't order the fog lights yet, though I did order the "fog lamp" bezels, Might look into cheaper alternative.

I can't wait to see it done..! It's going to be all white too

the way i look at it, i seriously don't think you can use the original bar because it would really need to be cut ALOT. but anyway, i wonder if anybody else with the conversion has done that?

btw, i bought some 4" fogs at Princess Auto which fit the foglamp bezel perfectly... just letting you know.

I'd like to see a picture of that, I have 4" Driving lights that fit perfectly, but they are driving lights, they are too bright to be used as fog lights...

BTW, anyone noticed the GT-FOUR front signal lights come with a single filament bulb? Do I have to do a bit of custom wiring or use the old signal light socket with the dual filament bulb?

you use your stock turn signal socket because you'll notice the gt-four turn signal socket won't fit the turn signal connector. it requires a different connector.

there are four notches on the gt4 turn signal housing. one of which will be needed to be cut another 1mm wider for the stock socket to fit.

art (lagos) had his body shop modify his stock crash bar.
vin (shin) had his guy modify the gt-4 bar.
i used the GT-4 bar, and frame brackets.

Wooo!! Finally everything is it my HAND! biggrin.gif

Got the package today, and I was kinda scared that the hood might have been bent somewhere in his travel all over the world, be fear not, it was flawless, Toyotaworld took care of using empty boxes to make the pallet sturdier and safer.

And with the pics!!!

the bumper in its box...

IPB Image

The bumper on (I had to).

IPB Image

IPB Image

I sat in the car and damn, you can see the freaking hood! Its like an old muscle car haha, nowadays you can't see the hood on most of the cars, its a strange but really cool view, with all those vents and bumps!
IPB Image

And a lil pic of the body work before it gets painted..
IPB Image

Now much else to show, maybe I'll post pics of the body filler over the body before it goes into the paintshop..

Hope you enjoy wink.gif

the latch has nothing to do with it, the actual stock latch is perfect, its just the "safety lock" that you lift up to unhook the hood that is too short..and its not related at all, its my own stupidity/accident/lack of carefulness. I'm so mad at myself because its so just not me! I'm like extreme perfectionnist, I'm already thinking about ordering another new hood.

And please I don't need stupid comment and sarcasm thrown at me.

Here's the hood in the middle of repair (last week).

It actual sounds worst than it is..the damage is minimal, and the winshield didn't crack...it could have been so much worst.

the gap isn't really that bad between the stock bumper & the gt-four hood. i'd actually consider just buying the hood then getting the bumper when i get the extra money.

looks good, make sure in the future that hood is secured to the latch tongue.gif

ok I got the car..it looks georgeous!! He made a miracle on the hood!

The only bad side is that the paitn is already chipping on the bumper..I'll have to take it to a pro..for the price I paid(including the hood/hinges/latch work) I can't complain at all.
