my remote says "clifford" I don't know if it's stock or aftermarket. it has two buttons, and same deal, only the left does anything (when it wants to... other times it just decides to stop working, and I get locked out of my car cause if I try to get in with the key, it sets off the alarm and I can't start the car.)

Ebay is the best way to buy them. I think I got one for $40 for my car, an exact replacement for the one that came with the car. Mine only has one button. Press once to lock, once to unlock. Its a little more simple than some of these new remotes (1 button for lock, 1 for unlock, 1 for panic, 1 for open trunk, 1 for heating your latte, etc.)
Don't let them convince you that the dealer needs to program them. it takes like 30 seconds to do it your self, all you have to do is press a simple button on the reciever unit. -------------------- ![]() psalm 69 |

I havn't got one yet because i wanna make sure that i will be able to program it. Let me know thanks in advance hey, while I was in my auto class today I went on the computer and looked up how to program the remote on Alldata. It said you just push the "program" button on the ECU (which it said was located beneath the drivers seat) and then a light should flash on your remote and you just push one of the two buttons within 5 seconds and that button will be programmed. it also said you could use the second button to program another toyota if you wanted to so that the remote could control two cars... hope that helps This post has been edited by 6strngs: Nov 18, 2006 - 7:18 PM -------------------- ![]() 94 GT - Sold -------- 69 Pontiac Lemans - Sold 88 Alltrac - Sold ---- 04 WRX - Sold 00 GT-S - Sold ------ 91 Miata - project/drift car 95 GT - Sold -------- 96 GT - New Daily Drive |

It's for if you have the remote programmed to a second VIP-equipped vehicle; it acts as the control for the other vehicle. IE. top button for your Celica and the bottom button for a Tundra.
IIRC...I have the manual around here somewhere. -------------------- Has no more Celicas
