Cell phone insurance is a waste of frikin money. But let me back up, I went out last night with my friend & some how my phone was stolen frown.gif Im soooo pissed, the bar tender is a friend pf mine & was right there chatting w/ me & they didnt see anything happen, we looked everywhere hoping I dropped it but NOPE....its just gone *omg* I dunno what to do...

I called & had it turn off so no one can use it but I cant get it re=placed according the Sprint untill I pay them, $50 bucks *grrrrrrr* I dont have $50 bucks, why do we pay monthly insurance if they are just gonna make us pay more??? I have had the phone since January, been making the monthly insrance payments & now they want more $....aint that about a B!

anyway....sorry for the post, but dont some of you work @ cell companies? is there anyway around this? Im so pist that I started frikin crying on the phone w/ the sprint insurance department im just THAT frustrated I feel so hopeless frown.gif I cant afford to pay them $50....I have too many bills & just cant afford it

WTF can I do?????

insurance don't really cover anything other than cheap phones. you use the A900 right amy? high end phones won't be covered entirely. Sprint doesn't have replacement programs like T-mobile does.. $50 to replace your phone isn't that bad.. but i think buyin phone insurance is just a waste of money. Wish i could send you a phone over amy, but i don't deal with SPRINT CDMA, only SPRINT (NEXTEL). kindasad.gif

sorry to hear that and this is nothing good but, don't get surprise when they send you a funny phone.

the policy says that you'll get a replacement phone that does the same functions as the one you had. I went from a nice samsung to a cheap sanyo with sprint. I hope you do better.

Amy, it's insurance. What type of insurance do you know of that doesn't require a deductable for using it? ;-)

And the reason you have insurance, is so you won't have to pay full retail ($300 - $400) in situations like these . Sorry to hear the news, but it's really not as bad as you think!

I never bought insurance for phone... I guess when I lose my phone, I'll be damned. At least you only have to pay $50.

But then again, that seems alot :-(

yes I will say insurance for a phone is a waste- One day i was exceedingly bored and was reading my insurance policy on sprint.com, and was thrilled to find out that with my phone my deductible is $150... So, in a nutshell, after the monthly cost for insurance, If I were to "replace" my phone at this point using my insurance, I will have to pay WAY more than what I paid for the phone mad.gif When I signed up for that insurance, nothing was mentioned about a sky high deductible.... frown.gif So *if* I decide to get a new plan once my contract is up here in a few months, they can think again If i'm going to pay them for worthless insurance...

im suppose to get my replacement in the mail today, thats what I was told on Friday soooo I hope it comes biggrin.gif

sucks to hear that, but I know exactly what you're talking about... I worked for a sprint call centre for a couple months during the winter... if I still worked for them, I could have had you sent a new phone and hopefully they wouldn't catch it... sorry I don't work there anymore... lol it sucked ass there!

I didnt think id be posting in this thread again, especially 7 months later! But a local Sprint store called me the other day saying someone came in trying to activate my stolen phone. So I went and picked it up from them. It was so weird seeing all my old pics! There were a few pics taken by the person that stole my phone but nothing interesting... just weird things like a picture of a sink! And a video clip of some curtains with tv noise in the background lol. Anyway...im happy to have it back, never thought id see it again. Now I have a back up phone, yay!

Did they hold the person who was trying to activate it?
