SS-III rear splitters, replica ones Options

Have you guys had trouble mounting the ones from Chrisc, how is the fitment. I know they are like fiberglass and are the mounting brackets even strong enough cus they feel like they can crack of if I hit a bump or something or even from wear and tear vibrations. As a matter of fact, the longest bracket on it, already cracked in shipping. How do I fix this, or any tips on how to make the best of the replicas. I really wanted the oem version but this is what I got. Thanks.

i have had a set of the SSIII rears from chrisc on my car now for like 2+ yrs, havent had a problem with them.
sorry, cant help much with fixing yours, dustin and i tried messing with fiberglass once, and all i did was make a big mess...lol

but can I just glue them back and reinforce the bracket with some type of adhesive or glue since that part does not show.


Also, when I use doublesided tape, will that stick to the back of the fiberglass.

I removed those long brackets, you actually don't need them in my opinion. I believe mine cracked as well when i recieved them a long time ago. In fact I was one of the first ones to recieve the SSIII splitters that did not fit well also.

Just remove them and sand down those sharp edges and just drill a whole under where the long bracket used to be.

I was unfortunately lucky enough to find some OEM Splitters and got rid of the fiberglass ones. They really held up pretty well for a while...as long as you're careful going up and down driveways, parking, etc. they should hold up. Just add some double tape for added strength also.

I'm not sure if i have pics of them mounted on to my wheelwell without those brackets, but I'll look. If you need a pic taken I can do that also.

Actually, I found the pic. You can't really see a close up view of it, but you can see what I was talking about removing that long bracket on the front splitter. It's not the cleanest job, only because there wasn't too much to work with when screwing it down, but hope this helps.

I know how you feel man. I have both splitters from Chrisc. It was pain mount them on... I don't know how other members but in my case just doubleside tape was not enough. I have used special glue (for agglutination of concrete panels) and "polyuretane mounting froth" (same is used in building industries, I belive you may know that as "styrofoam", however it's this thing ). Now I can waggle with whole car holding those splitters

In Europe it's Bauhaus (http://www.bauhaus.info/unternehmen/international/index.html), Hornbach (http://www.hornbach.de/), Bau-max (http://www.baumax.at/), etc. shops... All pages are in German language, however maybe you can figure out what kind of store is it...

Malpaso, I think you get what I'm saying but unlike my OEM side and front, in order to fit them as well as you want to, you'd have to bend it with the nuts. However with fiberglass, if you bend them (brackets), they tend to crack. I need a good solution to this or at least can someone make me feel better with a succesful story. It also look like the fiber can scratch the paint because it is made of hard material. any info. I'd appreciate it.

The replica ones are a little far in from the inside, will I need to fill that gap first before I use doublesided tape? Also, because you don't want the fiberglass scratching the bumper.
