Norway and Canada have a new kind of tourism. Killing baby seals. They call it a "sport".

IPB Image

You want to call this a sport?

IPB Image

Is he a sportsman?

IPB Image

Why? Becuz he can swing a bat to an animals head to kill it?

You're our only hope !!!

IPB Image

This barbarism shouldnt be possible in any society.

IPB Image

IPB Image

IPB Image

What gives them the right to kill them? Who is he to decide life and death?

IPB Image

What kind of sport is this?

IPB Image

You can make a statement by

reposting this to get as many people as you can.

Bring these murderers to the attention

of world leaders.

Thank you!!!!

It is very brutal. I wonder if they don't use guns because
hunting is usually on ice where you will fall through if it breaks.
This has been all over myspace as Erik said. I am not in anyway
saying I agree with killing seals for sport, but a friend of mine
almost lost his hand while netting a salmon by one of these cute
fuzzy bast***s. I'm guessing lock but it's just a guess, only time will
tell.

is it true that all americans marry their cousins and kill indians and ride around on horses with cowboy hats shooting yelling "yee-haw!!" after taking a bite of a big mac which they eat 10 times a day? Is that true??

Seriously, grow up, educate yourself about the world you ignorant asshole, you give Americans a bad name.

seen this all around the net.

i'm not one for torturing animals, but humanely killing them because of overpopulation or whatever is fine in my book. i could do without the clubbing, though.

I was clearly ASKING if this was true becuz I saw this on the other website and it's kinda hard to believe this would be LEGAL in any country. I wanted everyone to know for sure if this is TRUE OR NOT. But since you wanna start pointing fingers with false accusations before first hand reading what I have written and be a total bitch about it, I guess that makes you the real ignorant asshole. You should tell yourself to open a up a book before you start jerking off.

ok everybody relax...

differnt strokes for different folks is what this is. If what is pictured up there is true, then it's wrong, but there are tons of things that are wrong so why dwell on this particular one thing ?

if anyone wants to change the world then they should give it a go. But IMO at least start with things that hit closer to home.
Honestly, how does someone clubbin a seal affect you personally in your daily life ? other than "it makes me sad" ?

anyone over 18 vote on Tuesday to try to change things in this country ? I doubt it... kindasad.gif

people who support PETA should be eaten.

also, if there was a dead seal in front of me, I wouldn't know what to do. I wouldn't be able to decide whether to broil it or slow roast it.

I think arab killing might be a little more controversial than baby seal clubbing, therefor your analogy is a charade.

For your information Mr Dipsh!t, I DID NOT infact CLAIMED that this is a Canadian Sport. It was CLAIMED in one of the websites I visited. I asked NICELY if this was true or not. I did not say, "LOOK WHAT THE CANADIANS ARE DOING! OMG!" I DID not as you claimed said that I knew what what happening; quote: "you think you know everything about the world." in which was the reason WHY I ASKED. And if you take it that offensively, then you my friend are the 16 year old for making such a big scene out of something so stupid and pointless and need to learn to grow the fuk up and stop shoving that bat up your ass everytime someone says Canada in a sentence.

Please don't post in this thread anymore. You're making yourself look stupid everytime you post.

Mate, I may be wrong, but it looks to me that Exsane simply cut n' paste that article in the topic. I don't think he purposely put it in here to wrile anybody up. i think the comments under each picture were written by someone else before and not him personnally. he simply asked the Canadians on 6gc, since in one of the pictures it states "Canada", for confirmation because, like myself, i tend to respect most people's opinions that are on 6gc. If he is 16, then that is a pretty mature behavior to get confirmation first instead of just gonig around and spread false information. No offense was intended.

by your response, the seal thing is definately not true, so no harm no foul. biggrin.gif

I am sorry, but this thread is useless. Seals are nice and white and remind of cats so lets make fuss about it. F#$k that: who cares about fishes being caught in thousands and dying from suffocation, or cows being killed with electricity to provide us with T-bone steaks. This is life, people want to live, if for living they are seal hunters - that's it. Some people kill seals with stick for living, other fire other people from work, yet another earn money with weapon building, etc.

Such is life. First - be a good person yourself, then - rise your kids right. If everyone did that we would have less things we dislike on this world.

You're asking if it's a Canadian sport in the title, jesus tap dancing christ you are as dumb as a brick! Are you so stupid that you think it's a sport? Is that what you're implying? And if you know better, than why would you ask if it's a sport? Do you thinkCanadians are so barbaric that we'd have sealhunting as a sport?

If you want to know about the legality of seal hunting go look it up on the internet
If you're so dumb that you actually think it's a sport up here than you're retarted, end of conversation

point is, don't post stupid questions that are disrespectful of other countries, everyone with half a brain knows that it's not a Canadian SPORT, it's merely legal and it's how a lot of people earn a living, been like that since Confederation in 1867.

So don't ask anymore stupid question about other countries, it's obviously not a sport
Go educate yourself about other countries before you start asking retarted questions about them.
I'm not defending the seal hunt, I don't care either way about it, I'm merely showing you that your topic title is totally misguided

i believe he means a "sport" in the same context as hunting in the states is called a "sport". it's not like people go out and do it as a team and keep score, or anything like that.

all he's asking is if it takes place in canada, as the article suggests, whether it be legal or not.

so, it's a simple yes or no question, mike:

Does it take place in Canada, whether legal or illegal?

Yes or no, and that will be the end of it.

I take offence to that considering my family is originaly from France. Just because they didnt back you guys up in your last oil war doesnt mean they run. They funded you guys during the civial war, if they didnt send $ to the north, the south would have won. Also, i find it really ironic that americans are against France these days when France was the one who gave the U.S. one of its most influential/patriotic symbols, the Statue of Liberty. I mean, the French are peacefull people, and their government doesnt really put as much $ into their military these days. Their military is essentialy there just for policing, boarder pratrole and protecting certain landmarks, such as the Effile Tower, Louver, Notre Damme, and other histroical sights. Seriously, dont bad mouth France, cuz without them, your country would be 1 hell of a different place.

Back on topic, seal hunting is actually illegal in 95% of canada. Only place its legal to do is way up north in provinces like the north west teriroties, nunivit, Yukon. There its only legal for natives to hunt them as its part of their culture and they actually use parts of the seal for clothing, food, etc. Also, they need a special permit thats issued by the governemt. If you are caught hunting seals now without one of these permits, i cant remember the punishment exactly, but its somethin like 2 years in prison with no probation. Its not considered a "sport" by any means. Before you post something like this, please do research on it. It really hurts me to see that some americans have this perception of Canadians. I personaly am a full blooded canadian, born and raised here and im proud of where I'm from. Most Canadians too are the most peaceful people you will meet. I have never shot a gun, never used any weapons, never been in a fight that i started. Trust me, the only people in Canada that would hunt seals like that are people whos culture raised them to do so.

First that's just your interpretation of what he said
Hunting and sport are two different things.

sport  /spɔrt, spoʊrt/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[spawrt, spohrt] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–noun
1. an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature, as racing, baseball, tennis, golf, bowling, wrestling, boxing, hunting, fishing, etc.
2. a particular form of this, esp. in the out of doors.
3. diversion; recreation; pleasant pastime.

Anyway, he should re-name the title.

As to the legality of the seal hunt, he could have googled it, it takes 3 seconds, I don't see why he would make a topic other than the fact that he wanted to draw attention to it and make a bad name for Canada.

2. a particular form of this, esp. in the out of doors.
3. diversion; recreation; pleasant pastime.

Anyway, he should re-name the title.

As to the legality of the seal hunt, he could have googled it, it takes 3 seconds, I don't see why he would make a topic other than the fact that he wanted to draw attention to it and make a bad name for Canada.

if hunting and sport are different how come hunting is in the defenition of sport you just posted?!

is it true that all americans marry their cousins and kill indians and ride around on horses with cowboy hats shooting yelling "yee-haw!!" after taking a bite of a big mac which they eat 10 times a day? Is that true??

Seriously, grow up, educate yourself about the world you ignorant asshole, you give Americans a bad name.

Open up a book before you start jerking off to stupid myspace fads

I was clearly ASKING if this was true becuz I saw this on the other website and it's kinda hard to believe this would be LEGAL in any country. I wanted everyone to know for sure if this is TRUE OR NOT. But since you wanna start pointing fingers with false accusations before first hand reading what I have written and be a total bitch about it, I guess that makes you the real ignorant asshole. You should tell yourself to open a up a book before you start jerking off.

if that's true than why are you asking if it's a Canadian sport in the title?

don't disrespect my country like that because you saw something on myspace and you think you know everything about the world because you're 16

seriously, that is very offensive, and I'm not one to get easily offended

If i posted a topic asking if america had arab killing as a hobby it would be locked/deleted in 5 minutes

why dont u educate him than genius. du du du. stop bitching and get over it. no one insulted your previous country

Because Mike is lazy, and wants everyone to just go to google, instead of creating a discussion about it. Or simply answering a question.

To insinuate that ExSane was attempting to somehow belittle all Canadians by this post is ignorant. It was just to ask if it really happens, as the article suggested. To search it on the internet would do little, because you will find false information on both sides of the story. So, what better way to get the information he was seeking, then to ask someone from Canada on this board?

It's been answered by Valo, so it's over. Let's all thank Valo for not completely over-reacting, and actually educating us.

Thank you Valo.

because people who post on this board are experts right?
oh i'm lazy?
alright, we'll you're insecure because you feel the need to prove yourself and a ignorantly named thread title to people. Who cares? Fact of the matter is that he alluded to the fact that seal hunting is a sport in Canada. That's right in the title. It's not a sport. Check Canadian legislation if you want to find out if it's legal, don't go asking people on a board with all of 4 or 5 active Canadian members on it.

I don't care to debate this anymore, if you guys want to defend him that's fine, I really don't care, fact of the matter is that there are far better ways of approaching this, it's in Canadian law, so why argue about it? It's not a sport so why allude to it that way?

The first line of your post said "I was on a website and saw this. Is this TRUE to all of you Canadians in here? Please CONFIRM this!"

So, just outta curiosity, are you trying to ask all the Canadians on this board to admit a crime? What kind of answers are you looking for from the Canadians on this board?

Being true or not, intentional or not, I believe your post is kind of rude.

i think he was asking for validation.

you all are making it seem like he was insinuating.

HUGE difference.

btw, they aren't admitting to a crime if they don't do it.

that's like asking me if people commit murders in america.

yes. yes they do. the end.

What about Norway they were also listed on myspace.
We need to give some credit to killer whales as well, they are
smart enough to know killing defenseless seals is wrong. rolleyes.gif
This whole discussion is useless. If I was Canadian I would take offense
to being singled out too. It is no different than any other kind of hunting
x-cept it is a little more graphic. I have my own whacking sport, but no
one gets hurt. laugh.gif

what an over reaction.. You know if someone asked if us americans killed babys for fun like someone asked I highly doubt americans would over react because we are hated on all the time.. .

Canada on the other hand in only hated on by South Park and it seems that anything seems you upset you all very easily... which is odd cause I thought you were peaceful by nature and mature by nature... guess I was wrong

i believe he means a "sport" in the same context as hunting in the states is called a "sport". it's not like people go out and do it as a team and keep score, or anything like that.

all he's asking is if it takes place in canada, as the article suggests, whether it be legal or not.

so, it's a simple yes or no question, mike:

Does it take place in Canada, whether legal or illegal?

Yes or no, and that will be the end of it.

Ok I just woke up and this is guy still posting making himself look stupid. FYI, I DID mean sport as HUNTING becuz HUNTING down here is a SPORT. Thank you again, for false assumptions! You are SOOO SMART! laugh.gif

Taking it the wrong way. I was asking them to do a confirmation on an event that I thought was unbelievable and I had no intentions of saying it is true which was why I asked. When confirming, you are to object or consider.

If you want to know about the legality of seal hunting go look it up on the internet
If you're so dumb that you actually think it's a sport up here than you're retarted, end of conversation

FYI, I did! Which was the reason why I posted and ASKED if this was true or not becuz I wasn't sure if the ARTICLE I WAS READING ON THE OTHER WEBSITE was a fake! Don't overreact becuz you ACCUSE ME of something someone else wrote! In reality, you should be bitch'n about them, not me. I simply asked if the article I read was true or not. I even used the ===== lines to seperate the article from my writings and the article. Grow the fuk up and STOP OVERREACTING. If you seriously was to post a thread up about Americans killing Arabs for a Hobby, I would simply LAUGH and say, "no... this is all fake. Don't even worry about it." Instead of jumping around like someone's got their foot up your ass.
