i just want to start by saying that although i've seen and read alot posts from people explaining how excited they are when they add a new mod to their beloved celica, you don't truly feel it until you receive your own! I always looked forward to my first. Well, today was the day!

A big thanks to Vince for such a perfect transaction! The taillights were boxed perfectly and they arrived quickly (before Christmas!). Sorry about the quality of pics, but i was so excited that i couldn't wait and installed them right away and took pictures with the first camera i saw!

Congrats! Can't wait to see it! That little dog looks just like my neighbors' dog. My neighbors' dog is so tiny but he's the most evil little thing EVER. He barks at everyone & everything. He bit my brother's leg when he went over there. Funny but scary as heck, laugh.gif

Yeah, its a RHD straight from JP. That's one of the advantages that we have living in Africa. I was going to hold this for later but i'm currently working on getting a GT4 for 5K or a Supra for 8K. But it looks like i'll have to go for the Supra because GT4's are hard as heck to find!

Not to draw attention away from my taillights, but Lua (moon in Portuguese) is a maltese also. She belongs to my girlfriend. I'm not into those foofoo type dogs. I prefer the vicious type. I have a killer Jack Russel and an African roadside jungle cat (stray)! laugh.gif

(You can plainly see the ferociousness pouring out of Buddy as he lays in wait for an intruder to try to steal my shoes!)

I live and work in New territories.

In fact, very few Celica still running in Hong Kong. 7th Gen is relatively more than other Gen in Hong Kong.

Not too much 6th Gen left in Hong Kong. As you know the positioning for Celica is kinda embarrass here in Hong Kong.

Most of 6th Gen here with 2.0 Litre 3SGE or 3SGTE, very....very few have 1.8 7AFE or 2.0 3SFE.

For sure 3SGE/3SGTE both are not fuel economy engine.

Fuel is relativly costly here in Hong Kong, HKD$13.2/Litres(Approx usd$1.7/Litres), I think UK is a bit expensive or close to us.

But please noted... let me make an example:

A value meal in MacDonald here, that including a Big Mac, French Fries and Soft Drink.

Cost us around HKD$21-24 (Approx usd$3.11)

Our cost of living is relatively cheaper than in UK or USA, of course we get paid less than u guys I am sure.

For the Vehicle License, which need to pay yearly.

Vehicle Class Annual Fee
Private Car (petrol)
cylinder capacity:
a not exceeding 1,500 c.c. HKD$3,929 (Approx USD$510)
b exceeding 1,500 c.c. but not exceeding 2,500 c.c. HKD$5,794 (Approx USD$752)
c exceeding 2,500 c.c. but not exceeding 3,500 c.c. HKD$7,664
d exceeding 3,500 c.c. but not exceeding 4,500 c.c. HKD$9,534
e exceeding 4,500 c.c. HKD$11,329

Most people here in Hong Kong tends to choose car which not exceed 1500cc, such as Corolla, Civic, Echo(Yaris)...

And the Premium for our car insurance is horrible, double or tripple than those 4-doors sedan.

That's why, hardly see Celica running while you were here.

But the most you can see in Hong Kong is Taxi and Mercedes Benz... a lot of ppl here are very rich...

We have a Celica Club here in Hong Kong, not too much members and gathering, but we all love Celicas...

If anyone visit Hong Kong, just give me a shout, see what i can do...

Funny thing about HK, is that if you have a Rolls Royce, you will need to have a driver... if you ever drive a Rolls Royce, people will mistaken you as a driver driving to pick up someone...
