Was driving the Celica to work today with intentions of having the car weighed for the move. I'm cruising up 295N just north of Route 42, minding my own business, then WHAM!

Big mofoing Pothole. B-I-G. Big like my front drivers side wheel is bent and there's a cut in the sidewall of the tire. Big like BOTH passenger side wheels have "pothole" rash on the lip and the front tire has a cut on the sidewall.

I called in the pothole and was given a claims number to call. Looking at it, the wheels can probably be salvaged, but depending on what I can get from the state, I may do a brand new set (they were only $650 for the wheels).

This is just obnoxious the way my lucks going right now with an impending move to IL in 10 days. I had a severe issue with Bank of America last week with my credit card, then my Ferret died on me, then our buyer for our house backed out suddenly leaving us with the prospect of floating two mortgages, and now this. Aye yi yi!

I think its the only reason they fix them, it only takes them having to spend more money fixing cars damaged from it than to actually fix the pothole to make them do it

but I hear you Fastbird, I have a nice gash in one of my tires from the awesome NJ roads rolleyes.gif

Well the good news is that I've got the claim form already, and will be promptly sending that in. The better news is that I should be getting reimbursement for three new wheels and two new tires given that repair for each wheel will be around $200, and I paid $659 for the SET of wheels brand new. biggrin.gif
