the old 70's celicas were AMAZING. I really wish i could get one today. Its a piece of history, if you will. And that car is basicly a perfect example of what Japan is famous for: Everyday driver, but with some imagination, something very beautiful.

I love that motor. fuel injection on an 18RG. That is just amazing. I wish I could hear how it sounds.

Wow nice find! This is the guy that took a Skyline and did 0-200mph in a tunnel. You can see him in the mirror. (Youtube vid below)

Yes it is an 18RG and there are a few ways you can tell. First the car has a 2000GT badge and the 4age is a 1600 but the 18RG is a 2000. Also in Japan the 18RG was an option in the celica. Then take a look at the valve cover. Although it looks like a standard 16V 4age it isn't. The standard 16V 4age valve cover only covers one cam and thus there are two of them. This valve cover is one piece. There are a few other details about the motor that tell you it is an 18RG as well. Most of those only people that know the 18RG very well can tell you.

Beautiful car, but im just trying to figure somethin out. Its got a Yashio Factory sticker on the hood. Im just trying to figure out what Yashio Factory parts are in that, mainly because Yashio is mainly Nissan and SR20 related company. But still..sexy sexy car.

^ Yep you're right. On the full version of that tunnel run he passed by another camera man in a car doing 100mph and it was crazy.

I have the DVD that this video is from... it's like a documentary on everything Skyline. I can't find it though. =(

That thing is so nice. I've wanted to build and old Celica. I've never really liked the hatches in the old ones until this one. I can't believe they kept the rear drums. Makes me want to go out and find a nice 1st gen to see what I could do with it. I would like to put a 4age in one, even if that's not the motor in this car.
