I am considering picking up a pair of JDM taillights (since I'm on a roll ordering parts), but I was wondering how people went about modding their lights to remove the amber lens? I think it looks way better, but I've never really worked with taillights in the past. Do you need to break the lens out or can you remove it in 1 piece?
Also, I've heard that the wiring harness on the JDM lights doesn't match the harness on the USDM cars and need to be wired manually, or is there an easier way? Can you order a USDM harness and match up the wires? I'd rather not hack off the harness from my existing lights. -------------------- ![]() |

When ordering JDM tails, the harness SHOULD be supplied with them -- atleast that was how it was with the tail GB i had going a while back where we ordered over 20 pairs for members here. -------------------- Past: V6 Swapped 6G Celica, E46 BMW M3, Jeep Wrangler TJ

the USDM harness on our celi's already will work on the JDM lights, just plug the lights right into their slots...

I seem to remember there was a thread on the U.K forum about a year ago with a great illustrated guide of the procedure for cutting the back of the casing. I'll see if I can find and post the link ![]() -------------------- Has your car ever been on T.V? Mine was used in the opening sequences here - note the clear turns and front LED's

Thanks! That would help me out a great deal. The work should be no problem, but I wanted to make sure I didn't have to do anything excessive or unnecessary.

the USDM harness has one extra light. just take the bulb out and tape it up somewhere. in the JDM tails there is a place for that extra light, theres just a plastic piece covering it... you can drill it out or maybe pop it off somehow, I haven't really looked at it, and that yellow part will light up with your parking lights
