it sounds good..i listen to alot of rock music and some rap and techno..but it sounds good. Considering i spent $120 on my entire sub system, its not bad. $50 for the sub brand new from Best buy when they were on clearance, $35 for the sub box cuz the material had a tiny bit of damage on it, and another $35 for my sony 444watt amp and an install kit from my buddies shop. Its good too, cuz i have it toned down pretty good, but if i want to rattel the windows, i turn the bass up to 3 on my headunit and i can shake the entire car. Its kinda funny though, because my room mate has 3 10" JL audio subs in a custom made box designed for his car and has all JL speakers every where...then i have my $100 worth of speakers for the interior and $120 worth of subwoofer and 95% of our friends thinks that my car sounds better..lol

here's mine. nothing too special. got a quick q. i heard that it is bad for the amp to have all the vibrations from the sub so you weren't supposed to mount them on the box itself. is that true or just some bs that someone made up?

i havent heard that, but i just mounted mine there because when i had it on the back of the seat originaly, the weight of the amp its self pulled the backing of the seat off the foam its self. I just put mine there for convience and so it wouldnt keep damaging my seats

thats a bit different...it would cooler if you still had one seat back there, or at least the seat backings or somethin so you wouldnt see into the trunk

i dont know what to do with my 2 12s the box itself takes up the whole trunk space and i dont want to remove the spare and i want to have easy acsess to the spare any ideas plz tell even if it means relocating the spare .......but my amp used to be screwed to the box till i also herd the vibrations can damage it so i moved it to the back of the seats as well.....but i think it just depends on the kind of amp you got iv seen some wild amps with digital temp gage on them along with a compleat plexy glass body with more fans then i can count, will prolly reach from strut to strut in trunk noe that i think can rattle apart with all thos gagets in it

I couldn't use MDF? I know space would be tight, but I figure with a shallow sub you might just be able to make space for a (very) small box.

^^^ cali's right ^^^

you would use mdf for your top but you use fiberglass to get maximum airspace from the well plus it would sit real snug in your car making it sound better too.

I'd like to know what lagos did. Did he make a custom fiberglass enclosure?

I just like really clean subtle set-ups. I'd like the amp and all wiring to be out of sight and I just want one 10" sub. I plan on putting a 3-point rear strut bar back there, as well as relocating the batter back there. not only that, but I want it all as lightweight as possible. no 50lb boxes or anything like that. I also still want to have trunkspace... sigh, I guess I just want too many things, lol. I haven't figured it all out yet.

I have factory 8 speaker sound, with Kicker 8" subs in the doors, and 6' 3/4" speakers in the rear, stock 4" and stock tweeters (for now). I'm running the kciker's and polks from a 4 channel amp. I'm going to put a single 10 or 12 in the trunk in a custom box to top it off. Here are a few pics..

8" Kicker RMB8 in front door with stock 4" and tweeters.
And a 12" xplod sub.

Sounds good to me thumbsup.gif
