Hi,

just want to show my Celica to everyone here, so I can get comments, impulses and feedback on my car!

It's a at200, 1,8L with 116hk in other words.
1998 model, I got it for my birthday last year, in 2006, and I'm always eager to do something with it, to make it look better.

It goes in Trondheim, Norway.

Pictures from the seller, the ones I saw on the net before i bought:

The first thing I did was to rub it down, and polish it. It made it better, but it is some damages on it that I can't fix with wax-products laugh.gif

Then I put in a stereo! Mountet the front speakers in the original holes, and made a new rack in MDF.

The soundsystem sounds very well, clean and loud, the SUB helps it go deep and neat in the bad gangsta-songs rolleyes.gif tongue.gif

Front: Infinity Kappa
Back: Infinity Kappa 6x9 ( Three way? )
Sub: Rockford Fosgate HE 12"
Amplifiers: 1x Alpine Audio 2007 digital 300W, and 1x Alpine Audio 2007 digial 760W.
Tuner: A fancy panasonic I don't have the name of, maybe anyone know? Touch-screen and real charming tongue.gif

It is all wired up with ' the best ' cables, as my friend called it. I don't really know much about it...

IPB Image

Here is two pics that may show how much I helped the paint show off;

IPB Image

IPB Image

It's a bit dark, but that's life in a Norwegian winter biggrin.gif

Then, this spring I got my hand on some new rims. Momo GTR 17", loved them on the car ! I also bought clear side-markers from my local Toyota-dealer.

IPB Image

Here is one of the big damages in the body frown.gif

The last thing I've done, was to paint my brakes, and inner part of the discs, because they got real rust-brown during the winter. The friggin' state spreads salt in the road in the winter, so it eats my car tongue.gif

Painted the calypters red, and the inner-discs black. It became a nice detail. I also installed blue diods in my instrument-cluster. Will make it better later...

And btw, I replaced the original bulbs in front with xenonmatch-bulbs. So now it lights 'xenonwhite/blue' insted of the kinda boring yellow-ish original.

Enjoy, and please leave comments / give me impulses on what to do.

I'm getting it re-sprayed and fixed, so it will be 100% looking. I also am saving money for a SS-III-styling-set. The splitters and skirts. JDM-tails will come smile.gif

If you can see in the first pics, there is a mobile-phone-thingy by the stereo... I think it is in connection with that, but I have of course removed the telephone-handsfree-crap. But the antenna is drilled through the window........ I will remove it, and fix it when i tint my windows later... It annoys me sooo much kindasad.gif

No, not really. I ordered som blue diods from the net, and it was just to replace them with the original bulbs. Pretty easy, iow. Read the how-to's on this page, that is the ones that made me do it wink.gif

sweet looking ride, just a suggestion with that colour of yours why not try something other than the ss-iii exterior? you can make your car looking like a show car and you've already got the colour to do so.

maybe a little steady hand with the camera will take better pics. what d.cam are you using? -R

Do you have any suggestions on kit? I'm not really a fan of this great, extreme kits. Like it nice and sleek.

Yeah, I know some of the pix are real ****ty, because I took them with my mobile-phone in the winter. Damn cold, and shakey hand ;p

Got my hand on another digitcam lately, the one I took the last pics with. A Nikon ' Coolpix 885 ' , not a very sick camera, but i satisfies my needs.

Nice rims, they look really good on your car, but I'd think they wouldn't look good otherwise. Nice choice! Very clean!

Also, I'm actually thinking about visiting Norway soon, how is it there?

Tonight I installed a colour-filter one my LCD-watch. So now it shines blue, like my cluster, and cd-player.

I'm pleased with the result.

Yeah, I'm gonna drop here, and I love the projectors, but haven't got my hands on them yet... also I have a paintjob coming up, plus styling... so it comes when the money arrives tongue.gif

About the colour, It's okay, but nothing more than that... I suppose you get tired of your underwear after a couple of days, right... But I plan of dropping pearls in the paint, before the clear-coat... Don't know how it will look, but sound kind of neat.

What you guys think about the pearl-idea?

your is a totally single din bezel (plastic around the radio that has the clock and air vents) for your radio, all usdm bezels are double din, if we convert to single, we have to put a pocket or fill the hole with something.

I really like it, woot.gif . Wish mine like that, but i have double din changer anyways. But it coudl have been an option back then...

Aaaah, okay. Well, that's from the old stereo that was mounted, I've removed it now... but it is possible for you to order one single-din. From the toyota-dealer.

But yeye, thanks for the compliments, I appreciate it smile.gif

First off; them are some big @$$ pics... and secondly; you should removed the Amber plate in the JDM's. Gives them a nice clear look... I'm about to do it to mine too, and there's a walkthrough on 6gc somewhere...

PS - I love all the things you're doing to your ride... keep it up and keep us posted!!

PSS - and I really love the paint... the more I look at it the more I lose myself in it... wow tongue.gif

PSS - and I really love the paint... the more I look at it the more I lose myself in it... wow tongue.gif

1. You could by some filter in some technic-shop that deals with light-settings etc, og just go to a stage/theathre and ask...

2. The pics are resized from photobucket, and probably ment for the most common resolutions on computer-screens around.

3. Yeah, I thought of removing the amber-plate, but I didn't bother, I just wanted them on as quick as possible. But I know it is easy, and will do it when my car goes to re-spraying.

4. Yep, I will keep you guys updated, and have more plans about the ride...

5. Yeah, I also like the colour, and will keep it, but have plans about giving it a layer of pearls before spraying the clear-coat! Think that will give it a nice look.

Thanks for the post KAOS biggrin.gif

Nah, something called tr-style. I think it is 404. Correct me if I'm wrong, anyone. Replica of TRD...

Those looks to have the shape just like the TRD skirts to me. The 404a ones are more "blocky" in the front end as far as I know. Is that urethan? I envy you!! bowdown.gif

The code is 8m2. 8M2 Galaxy Blue to be correct. The colour is cool in real, and I can't wait to get the extensions on, and get the whole car re-sprayed. Wondering if I'll add pearls before the clear-coat, to get it look deeper with some sort of effect. Paint will happen during the upcoming months biggrin.gif *grr*

Steve; do you have a picture of the azure-colour?

Yup, I've thought of many things, but ended up that I want a smooth look, with one colour.

The car is, for information, sent in to the paintshop, with the trd-sides ( thanks whifbitz ) and the trd-splitters ( thanks doggy ). Can't wait to see the results :--D The whole car will be sanded down, and be straightened up. Wonder how it will look, for sure... smile.gif

Thanksthanks, they molded the extensions to hide the "gap", to get a smoother connection there, but I don't really know why they didn't mold the whole thing. I said I didn't want them to, so I could remove it if I in the future get unlucky and get hit or something.

looks great!! good choice in color too!

as far as the moulding... looks like you're going to have a problem either way if you need to take it off.

and if you get in an accident, im sure the moulding will just break anyway.

just an fyi, but i think the work and overall job looks amazing! cept for the blue tire

Hehe, yeah, but I will try to keep it on the road ;-p Anyways, by seeing the pictures I'm satisfied, so far. I said he just could give-**** in the wheels, because it is just a set of useless rims anyways, I will take the tires off, and refresh them for next winter, but when I get home now, it is summerwheels ( momo rims, you could see them at the top of the page), and it will be something different.

Thanks for the comment, though. It is fun to get positive feedback/suggestions/tips etc. smile.gif

Hehe, I've changed my mind so many times about them projectors.. think I would leave the headlamps as they are... And the splitters, and the rest of the skirts, were moulded because of fitment-problems.... So I think, if you were in my situation, you would tongue.gif
