im guessing the 2000 dollars being all the gauges they stole. and im hoping they didnt take the greddy emanage. but besides that the ignition module and some simple wiring shouldnt cost 2k (so i assumed they stole a few things)

Thanks all for comments... Situation is like this:

- right now car is not possible to run and not possible to lock anyhow frown.gif

- now my celi is in Toyota and they will repair ignition first (car must be mobile)

- I have already bought Toad Ai606 alarm (hope good choice) and will be installed when I have my car back.

- My car was not stolen only thanks to anti-theft device Toyota has been using in all European cars (I have not found it in EPC for US models so believe not every model has that...)

IPB Image

that device is called "immobilizer central unit" (middle-left box in the picture above) and every single unit has unique set of locks and keys... So if you lost all keys you need to buy new unit with new key. Or... my situation... if any idiot will damage ignition lock... you must buy with new lock also new key and immobilizer unit. This complete set costs $1000.

Next... I need replace part of steering column where steering wheel locking system is (broken totally) and bracket for ignition lock (all in the picture below)

IPB Image

Total cost: $500

... an finally last $500 is for work (replace ignition, locks, wires, steering column, etc) and some broken plastic parts... frown.gif

i think we should start a 6gc stupid accident insurance thing on here, whenever something like this happens, all of us can help contribute to the cause of getting the communities cars back up to par again

sorry about your misfortune, i hope they get a taste of their own medicine someday and i hope you get your car to how you would like it (if not better wink.gif )

Ouch that sucks manm put the insurance on it and get it fixed properly...

Toyota's immobilizer system..makes it hard, if not imposible to start the car without the good key...thankfully it would have been worst if you woke up with no car!

Actually for me I would rather they steal a whole car than just to messed up the ride. To me that's more painful to endure. But that's just me.

God, People are idiots!!! I don't know what else to say about it. Crap like this makes me so angry that I just want to beat the crap out of something.

Good thing they were too stupid to know how to "hotwire" it and get away with it.

Bad luck like this is happening everywhere. A girl on the mr2 forums had her car stolen. Luckly the people took it just for a joyride and she found it a few days later and a town over.

Thanks again for comments and especially for support (Dustin you are real friend)... Unfortunately my insurance will not cover this so I must pay for it my self frown.gif frown.gif frown.gif. However thanks to god those idiots didn't know what has real value in my car so e-manage and gauges has not been stolen. They even did not open a hood or hatch... So all valuable parts not missing (only few CD's, cell phone hands free, etc. missing... no big deal at all).

Today I will visit few junkyards around to find:
- drive and passenger side outside handles (most wanted) because they are broken inside from screw driver breaking kindasad.gif
IPB Image

- steering column because of that st.wheel lock part
IPB Image

- some interior plastics (all brackets are braked off... however they may be glued or something)

so if anyone knows about those plastic door handles (especially) let me know please

Martin - i have atleas 3 Main lock (ignition locks) at home laing around. 2 of them are Euro and on JDM (jdm wount fit - cuz it has different angle)

And actually - there is easyer way to fix your situation. If you going with good alarm - let the installers make the alar block the igniton / ecu / fuel pump. This way you would not need any imobiliser.

And if you buy used locks - its an easy way to fit your existing key to the new loks just my simply taking the locks apart, puting the key in the new lock - and sanding donw the stripes that go out once you put the key in, so that these stripes would match your key.

This way you could easily save up lots of $.

AND I TOLD YOU GOD DAMN - put the Alarm in (remember my WORDS, then you was here - and i was amazed that you dont have alarm!!!!!!!!!!)

btw - im finishing all my urgent works - and i will be a bit less busy - so i will be able to help you all the way.

yea Romas I remember that... kindasad.gif have learned from that mistake a lot so one is already bought now. however as well good news... my "wanted parts list" is shorter now because I have this from local junk yard:

IPB Image

complete steering wheel column + interior plastics + some ignition connectors for $100 smile.gif. So I have saved about $500 so far...

Now waiting only for Dustin with door handles offer...

how did they open it still? is your car just parked outside no alarm? i know its hard to break into a toyota well it takes a while. do you know if they used a shaved key. i know honda, acura are known for being stolen here where i live. its the most common cars that people fix up. i remember someone tried to break into my 4runner and that dude had a bunch of toyota keys. hope u fix it soon and find out who did it.

QUOTE(kerosene @ Oct 28, 2007 - 1:14 PM)

why is there so much bl with our cars l8tly

because they are so attractive. you dont see them everywhere unlike a honda civics or an integra for example. plus if you park your car outside and its fixed up most likely someone will try and steal it.

I know... I was stupid having no alarm in my car frown.gif. However I have not even imagine anyone that stupid want to steal car which is absolutely unique (many people should identify my car), moreover in CZ are registered about 160-180 6th gen. celicas (it's not possible to hide it on market like any other local brand)... Car has immobilizer (from stock), locked shifter (tailor made!!! there are 3 maybe four locks like this in country!)... I really had no reason to be worry a lot. Police office were surprised as well. He told me this is first time anyone tried steal this model or even any other model of Toyota brand.

Never mind... I do not make mistakes twice... now I have bought alarm and I plan to buy my own garage. That's it...

Just be glad they didn't steal your doors, broke off the door retraction metal bar (I dunno how they would ever use the door again), cut your steering wheel and smash all your windows. I've had this done to my camry before and could never understand if they wanted to steal the car or was just jealouse. It was an old car.

Maarten it's like this:

stock ones:
AT200 (1.8 7AFE) - ST Celica
ST202 (2.0 3SGE) - SS-III Celica
--------------------------------------

my one is mixture of JDM SS-III (design) and Euro ST (engine) + turbo... so total: AT-202T wink.gif

it's just my game with toyota model codes... look at this old topic where it many months ago has started wink.gif
