i would add a wideband to that list. it will help you a lot in fine tuning or troubleshooting once the car is back on the road.

using a random hose form autozone or some place from the rad. to the elbow hard line. From the elbow to the water junction we are using a part of the 5s rad hose and we also shortened the elbow by about an inch.

OMG noooooo

jefff... man i cant believe u painted the silicone couples... u know when u put the clamps on the paint will eventually crack and fall off... see if u can take the paint off with out hurting the finish of the silicone did you at least sand down the pipe a bit and get all of the greasy finger prints off?????

man.... u should have just painted the pipes.... all that hard work trying to make ur ic pipe setup look clean and now its all blahck..... and next time take off the couples and paint the pipe.... dont just lazy-it and paint the pipe with the couple on like u did with the turbo intake pipe

and straighten out that 135 coupler so that way the u bend we cut will point in the direction we planed for the vertical pipe to route...

gaaarhhhh i turn my head for a few seconds and things are just willy nillied...... kinda like the A arm and sub frame bolts that were willy nilliedly taken off while i was napping and forgotten to be put back on: only to be realized after we took the car off the jack stands and attempted to roll the car in....... omg im heading down there after class and helping you with stuff man....

So what was the surprise? I was there, but I think I missed it. Your intercooler piping is much better now. I don't know how many more days I can stay over this late man haha. I would usually be fine but I have Class in 3 hours haha. Atleast me and craig had a nice GT4 cruise woot woot. You might want to buy some more brake fluid cleaner.

Mmmmm check out that wiring of the O2 sensor, that's very clean and professional looking huh? Yo Jeff, I'm going to come over and clean up some of the wiring I did for the guages. It was 2am in the morning and I rushed it haha. Let me do it Friday please, it's bothering me that I did a spagetti job like that haha. Where's the picture of Urbandork and the muffler? (that's right Craig, I said Urbandork, since you call me MaskedMan). Well atleast after all these days, Jeff is calling us by the right names Craig. Phew fantastic job guys! The pictures don't do it justice.

update: oil pressure gauge hooked up, wideband hooked up, piping is 98% done (need to shorten 1 pipe)...thats it for tonight...
whats left:
connect air hose from boost gauge, get the final 2 injectors cleaned, then install...put the cross member back on, tighten motor mount, install dp support bracket...tune with neo...go get exhaust done

For originality and the presence of mind that your one of the few to be running a motor thats rarer then a blue moon.

Originality > Power. Always has been, always will be.

your on a FWD platform. u see what Presure2 and Defgeph put down (235 to 250whp) and they run into traction issues. (which have yet to be resolved) The only answer anyone has been able to find for it, is to throw money at it, till u get it right. (fat rubber, bigger and better and ultimatly more expensive suspension components) And unless your racing....regularly....the originality factor is better then the added 30 to 50hp.

again, its my opinion, and last I check, on these boards, I am entitled to it.

mig... ask any one of us with a turbo celica. we would take lack of traction over an NA beams motor any day. its the type of thing that is only a problem when you go to the track and are trying to run a 1/2 second faster then your last time. in the real world, on the street, its not a problem at all. the traction issues at the track can also be solved by simply lowering boost in lower gears, and a bit of driver skill.

i look at the beams like i look at the silvertop swap. on the internet, you will have a cool car, but in the real world, you'll get owned by just about anything on the road with those motors under your hood.

the 5sfTe and 3sgte might be very common on these forums, but in the land of subaru, mitsu, and hondas that roam the streets, a turbo celica is a very rare and cool thing.

Traction issues are only a problem in the wet and if you launch hard, otherwise there aren't any traction issues here. If you are pushing well over 300BHP you probably also have the money to afford this

Not very good for you US guys cuz of the dollar exchange rate (Expect to pay over 3k ATM), but it is fitted on Aston Martins so I think it works wink.gif

In my opinion, those traction control systems do what they are supposed to do and work VERY well. I have tried to lose traction in a vehicle equipped with a similiar system, and It reacts very quickly and I was quite impressed.

However, I believe that it takes the fun out of driving and no longer becomes a competition of driver skill. I have a belief, and I think it's great to get into a car without many computer controlled traction or handling assist because it shows that it's not just the car that wins races, it's the driver. On a track, it seems like having your car completely control your power and traction seems boring. You might as well just be a passenger in the vehicle or a spectator.

5sfte, 3sgte, 4age, 4agze, 3sge, 7afte, 7agte, 7afe, 5sfe, 3sfe, 3zvfe, 3mzfe, 1mzfe, or w/e direction you choose to take is fine. Sometimes we look at the forum and don't see us indivisuals anymore. But what we need to remember is that all of us have our own opinions and choices. Although there have been many 5sfte projects done recently, we need to appreciate the effort all those are putting into the swap itself. We can all try to become original, but originallity does not always overcome function, as we can see with some of the exterior mods a few of us do not favor. If it works, then people will do it. I can understand the importance of not following the crowd, or not wanting to be like everyone else. But we all gotta try things out and see where they take us before we can move onto something new.

And again. Congrats Jeff on the swap. Your car is loud without exhuast. I am glad you got exhaust put on today smile.gif.

take out some fuel from the high throttle map on the safc, in the rpm range that you are rich. just remember to take out as little as possible to get the job done.

you might also have to do the low throttle map for the car to idle. aim for a 14afr idle/cruise... 11ish under boost.
