Greetings to the forum!

I'm posting this on behalf of my girlfriend LadyMilla since she feels sadly lacking in skills when it comes to the English language.

On to the business then.

She's interested in getting her hands on the JDM High and Low Beam Kits with clear lenses.

Do these kits/parts have any part numbers or part codes when ordering from Toyota?

I read somewhere that a harness is required to install the Low Beam projectors. Does Toyota supply this as well and does it have a part number or part code?

What are the modifications required to convert the Low Beam lights to LHD usage?

Any quick and informative replies would be highly appreciated!

Thanks for your input!

Right then, it seems like the conversion process should be pretty straightforward. It's about the same as the ones I performed when I converted the headlights for my Skylines. No problem there.

We managed to get a quote from a local Toyota dealer at about $ 1,000 for both the high and the low beams. Does this sound good to you people? I reckon I could get a better price buying directly from Toyota in Japan...

The main concern remaining then would be the harness required to install the low beams. Nothing more on that one?

I just got my projectors in yesterday.. they came off a wrecked celica and here's how the stock harness and socket looks like.

go to an automotive store and look for a 'H4 socket' harness.

Various Socket Types for Headlights

there are 3 wires but you only use 2 of them

I think this link should ans most of your questions:

http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=27644

looking into it myself to, they really refresh the front end of the celica.... worth the effort me thinks.

hope this helps,
rob.

I thought that I might as well register an account of my own even though I don't own any 6GC, as I will probably end up helping Milla with a good deal of things in the future as well. In addition, this seems like a pleasant place visit. I hope you don't mind having a Nissan-enthusiast on here?!

Many thanks for your help, it's much appreciated.

Right, so the sockets should be readily available with any well-sorted automotive store or car parts supplier? Good to know, then that shouldn't be an issue.

Milla will probably be upgrading most of the car's exterior in a not too distant future, and seeing as she's already bought a new pair of taillights that really improve the looks of the rear end, I think it's all good that she pays attention to the front as well.

Clear headlights would make a very nice facelift on any car that doesn't have them as stock. I remember wanting to do the same modification to my previous R33 GTR, but the headlights simply proved too expensive to justify replacing them. Luckily for me, they are standard on the R34 GTR.

Any comments on the prices we've been supplied, ladies and/or gentlemen?

välkommen to both of you smile.gif

Great looking GT-R!

I don't think you will get them much cheaper.

I got mine from HERE in the UK. They supply all the connectors needed for the install.

Only way to get them cheaper is used from Ebay.

WOW! thats a nice car you have there, of course we don't mind a nissan man on here.
Most people on here have a bit of a taste for anything japanese i'd say.
(or anything automotive really!)

Anyhow hope your g/f gets on well with her celica.

you need the sockets to use jdm projectors. projectors require different sockets compared to the non-projector headlights..
but the high beams use the same sockets.

Many thanks for your kind comments about my car, but let's keep this on topic, shall we?

I think we've got all our questions answered, and I suspect we'll put in an order shortly. I'll just have to check with my Japanese contacts about the prices over there in the Land of the Rising Sun, as Swedish suppliers tend to be rather shameless when adding their profit on things specifically imported on behalf of a customer.

My sincere thanks to you all for clearing these things up for us! I think me and Milla will both enjoy lurking 'round this board!
