Ive only had mine for 3months and abit, and its my first car. I dont ever plan on selling it ever ! (unless its truely unrepairable, or way too expensive to fix)
I dont see how people can get bored of a car and just trade it for another one, if its not broken why change it?
Adding on to what ive said my car only has just reached 37282 miles / 60 000km, and its got a lifetime ahead of it and so do i, the only car id want to swap it with would be the new celica gt4 (depends on how it looks) but id defo be something id save up for.
And even if i do get a new car (new celica) id probably just give my 6gc to my dad, i just wouldnt want to let it go and not see it again *insert tear here*

Do you have any plans to sell your celica in the future?

I always want to sell mine. No offense to Celicas. I absolutely love them. But the one I had before this one was immaculate. I'm not going to go into details, but it was a LOT better than my current Celica is. THe one I have now was leased to a guy named Ramone for the first 9 years of it's life. I've never met the guy, but it's amazing what you can find out through Carfax biggrin.gif Anyway, judging on the condition of the car, I'm guessing Ramone loved to race it and when stuff broke, he fixed it himself without tools. None of the spark plugs were tight and I didn't find that out until one of them shot out and into my hood. Turns out he replaced the spark plugs with a socket and extension, but no ratchet. They were only hand tightened -_- Lucky for me only one shot out. Half of the interior plastics are broken and several screws were missing. So I am always tempted to sell this car and buy another one, but my final goal is to buy a Supra within the next 5 years. So I don't see the sense in throwing away my money on another Celica when I'm so close to a Supra. So until the day I got a Supra, I'm not selling my Celica.

I never planned to sell the celica, but things happen. Sometimes putting money into her you think you'll keep it, but it doesn't work that way. You'll realize the amount of money you've put in could've gone to something more practical.

If I can find a clean 97+ 240sx I'll be trading my celi in for it. I'll just have to wait and see what fate throws at me.

I'm in sort of the same boat as you whatthe, low km (60,000km) immaculate condition basically. for me its not the acutual mods themselves but the search pricing buying installing, although looking it her & driving is fun aswell biggrin.gif
so yea I wouldn't sell it, maybe a GT-Four but it would have to be a very very good one (the ones usually for sale aren't that great)

I might have to let her go soon, but I also want to see the potential she could reach. OP, 32k miles and change is nothing...I just reached 70k and I thought that was low.

When i first bought my celica I loved it because it was a sporty looking stickshift 4 cylinder. It fit my requirments perfectly. But once I got over the whole 5spd thing and started to miss the pull of my old vr6, I hated the car. (all this occured within the first 4 months). I ended up hating the celica because its balls where cut off for the us market. However, about 3 months ago I had to put it into storage so I could go to school and have since fallen in love with it again. I dont care about its shortcomings anymore, or that people think its a girly car. Im determined to make practical and effective performance mods on one of the best modding platforms out there. If people can achieve such amazing results with an economy platform like the civic, imagine the potential of a race bred rally car =)

Everything comes to an end. I WILL eventually sell my celica, it just has to happen. I can only imagine the amount of cars that I would have to store if I didn't sell my vehicles through life. I also have a 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500HD with only 12,000 miles on it, I will also sell that in time. I just cant see holding onto cars forever. There has to come a point in my life where any of my vehicles are no longer used, impractical, old and not worth repairing/dumping money into, or I am in need of something different to fit my life at that point in time. But for know my truck is what makes me my money, and the celica is the one who eats it all laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

One day I will think about this time of my life and with a gratifying smile of evil and pleasure, I will say what a waste of money to my child who wants/starts modding his car (but thinking in my head...I wouldn't have changed a thing)

i didn't plan on selling my Gen 5 Carlos Sainz Edition and sometimes to this day i wish i didn't sell up........ but when i was offered the orange ST205WRC with the power it was putting out i had to take it and trade the Sainz in against it. It'll be a long time before i part with the 205 with the amount of money i put into the engine, in the last 4months i could have bought another 2 205wrcs with the money spent. And the Sainz is back up for sale just wish i had the money to have it back on the drivaway again.

Its allready got 280,000kms on it, I expect I'll get about 100,000 more.

No.

She's my first car, my baby, and my longest relationship. I've had the car for close to five years now, I've put about 86k miles on it and invested about $12k into it. Right now and for the last 5 years, my Celica has been worth more to me than I would ever get for selling it. I don't foresee that changing anytime soon.

I have no idea, in some ways I love it and want to keep it and do an engine swap when this one dies (hope in a long time) but in another way I'd like it to be worth something when I sell it so I can afford a quicker, better handling car. For now I'm just gonna do suspension things and keep it a couple of years, by then it will have atleast 250 000km on it, I bought it a year ago with 175 000km now it has 195 000 frown.gif.

Hopefully not any time soon. But eventually, I probably will (this is why I've kept all my stock parts). I'll probably have the car for another few years at least though.

Been wanting to get a different car for awhile now... kindasad.gif haha the problem is just letting go...
My first car, I put so much hard work and money into it, blah blah... etc, etc...
Another thing that has been holding me back though, is I just can't decide what car I want after the celica... I keep changing my mind every 4 seconds... I'm craving change cuz I've had the car for so long now and I'm getting bored, so I'm thinking about getting a Ninja250 just for sh!ts n' giggles to have on the side...

Might as well keep the car if it gives me no trouble, and I have no payments on it... specially while I'm in school...

One thing I learned about cars is to never fall in love with them.. They will fail on you at some time, get old, get boring, etc. When the cost of repairs start rising and the thrill is gone, sell it. I did last summer and dont even think about it anymore..A car is a car....dump it when it feels right.

I will cut for making statements like those. mad.gif

I might have to let her go...my dad might be good for a good graduation present. If that doesn't happen, I'd be fine with keeping her. Thing is, I love my car, but I wouldn't die over letting her go. I'd rather get a more potent car to start with, let's just say a GT-4 (biggrin.gif), and make her as beautiful as I want. biggrin.gif

Thats what is in the back of my mind, yes i could turbo my 5S-FE or engine swap. But maybe one day i want to go to a track and do a little drifting and i wont have the opportunity. But im taking my chances and going to keep it for the long run. Well thats what im thinking at this time, i hope i dont regret it down the track

I plan on keeping my car for the long run... I don't PLAN on selling it ever, but some things are just unforeseeable. I want to keep this car all my life and keep putting money into it. I have to repair the rust and repaint within 2 years or so... But no matter what I drive daily, the Celica will always have a place in my garage.

NOOOOO don't do it! The Celica is paid for so use it as your DD so as not to put much miles on your WRX weekend toy.
Besides - you are a damn good Celica driver - we have too many bad Celica drivers that complain about how slow their cars are and how bad the handling is - who am I gonna point to for proof that even a ST Celica can get down in the twisties?

Its a safety feature so that people like you don't end up killing themselves or everyone around them.
Slow down Paul Walker.

Thanks Death, the only way i would keep it is if i bought, just a wrx and not the STI. If i go with the STI ill need the extra cash from the celica to put more down on it. WRX 227 AWHP STI 300 AWHP, see what i mean. rolleyes.gif

Though i should be happy with just the WRX, its more than double my power now and AWD. bowdown.gif

I really never plan to sell my car unless the under body gets so bad with rust.( I live in wisconsin) but i'd try to find another cleaner celi. But as long as the body stays in good condition it will be my auto crosser forever.

I wanted to sell my convertible once to pay off the loan. Nobody wanted it so my dad paid it off for me, so I gave it to him. But when I went back to college and graduated my dad gave it back to me. The funny part was I bought a liftback off ebay and had it delivered by car transport. The day that I graduated was the day the transporter droped off my car and was also the day my dad gave me back the title to the vert.
So as of right now I'll never sell my Celica . I'm thinking about finding a 95 coupe so I'll have all three bodys a 94Liftback, 95Coupe, and a 96Convertible
