Official 2009 6gc.net Calendar Election!!!!, Round 1 is closed Options

Due to limitations in the way the poll programming is, I can only post these in 3 groups of 10 - there are 88 images in all, so PLEASE DO NOT START VOTING UNTIL ALL 3 POLLS ARE UP!!! I know having to scroll through 3 polls kind of sucks, but for the time being there really isn't a better way to do it. This would be a great opportunity to use tabbed browsing!!!!

If you don't see one or some of the pictures you submitted, please understand that they were eliminated at my discretion based primarily on either a close similarity to others of the same car, or on image quality in terms of how it will come out in print. If anyone feels very strongly that I've overlooked something (all the images are still available for viewing in the album link), please PM me so we can discuss it.

I'm getting some questions about these already, so I decided to start a little "FAQ" as they come in, in hopes that it will answer some of your questions as well.

How does the poll work? Can you only pick one from each set of 30?

You can pick multiples per set - because of the way the forum software is designed, I can only have a maximum of 10 choices per question with 3 questions per poll.

I know it's hard, but imo there are just too many pics to choose from, and some great pics from one set could be beaten by average pics from another......?

Yes, there's a lot to look at, I know. I thought about paring it down to one per person, but honestly I think most of the pictures deserve equal time, which is why I did it this way. If it turns out to be a total headache and too complicated for everyone, I'll go from there. This was just the most diplomatic way I could think of for the time being; having done calendars in the past for clients, I've found that sifting through and kind of weeding out what people like most is the best way to get the highest quality calendar we can.

Is the fu**ing poll working for you? I think I did something wrong. It says Error: you did not choose a poll to vote against. WTF does that mean?

It's because you have to pick one from each section.

^ Yeah, sorry about that, it's definitely an unavoidable drawback.

The way to fix that would be to shuffle the entries before the next round rather than leave them in this same order with the loosers removed.

a) 4 top from each + 1 as cover (Griff's choice)
b) 12+1 pics with maximum hits taken from all groups together (as only one poll was here)...

IMHO no other way

CMIIW but the way I see it and understand is Griff will be collecting the most number of votes from all the polls and 24 pics would get through, then from the 24 we will choose 12.

I think that is the best idea since we couldn't have every pic in the same poll.

My plan is to take the top 24 most voted pix and move them to round 2, 8 images per group, 3 groups (so only 1 poll, yay!) and yes, I was going to rearrange the order of the images.

As for the cover pic, I already know which one I want, and I fully expect it to be in the top votes. I'll cast that one aside as the cover and choose the top 24 that does not include that one (provided I'm right and it gets good votes - I haven't looked at the poll yet today)

4 of the top from each group sounds fair too though. What do you guys think? I'm open - I want to hear what you want. It's your calendar, I'm just putting it together.

I like the idea of shuffling all and repolling all. A couple groups there were
multiples I liked better than other complete groups. Just a thought.
