my used engine has no erg on it.... my ecu for a 1994 celica st had erg ecu programming.....
anyone know what model car i could get an ecu from? because i hate check engine lights.... could i install the old erg? ... i dont think i can haha theres nowhere to plus stuff into... well i could swap the valve covers or what ever the heck maybe but i dono what kind of engine is in my car now... anyone got carfax? haha na i dont think the VIN or EIN number was on the block.... o well |

dude, use commas and periods please. It took 5 minutes to figure out what you were saying. And im assuming you mean egr.
Okay, what im getting is that you swapped in a non egr engine into your 1994 celica st and now its throwning a code. right? If so you could possible get a jdm celica ecu, but that depends on what engine you have in there. as far as installing your old egr setup, its really important to know what engine your threw in there and i imagine it would be kinda difficult. -------------------- ![]() |

ok well did you use the origion engine wiring that came w/ your car, or the new one that came w/ the engine?

original... the block and intake/exhaust mani's were on the used engine i got .... the exhaust manifolds werent the same and had to use the unknow engines manifolds.... oh yeah BTW my egr temp sensor is hanging haha
i was like ok time to fix that light... i knew what shape egr i was looking for but i didnt see one and i remembered when i was browsing for engines that there was the egr and the non egr.. o well all suggestions and or sales pitchs are welcomed... haha |

If you switch the intake manifolds you should be able to reinstall the EGR. But if you're looking for what car the 7A with no EGR came from it's probably a Geo Prizm, could be a Corolla too but I'm pretty sure most of those came with EGR systems.

or if you don't want to go through changing that, or don't feel there's a need for EGR, take that temp sensor off, and in its place just put a piece of wire shorting out the two pins on the harness for the EGR temp sensor, if its a 94-95 it will get rid of your CEL(check engine light)
