you can pull off anything that you can think off. Unfortunately as things go your celica will no longer be a celica.

A job like this yourself would run you into more problems than you can poke a stick at unless you are a professional body guy. A job like this in a shop would cost you around 1500 just to fit it all together nevermind the paint.

It costs $1500 to attach a vent these days? I am now changing my career path to professional body guy.

Lower pressure behind the raised up front part will cause air to be sucked in without causing as much drag as a forward mounted scoop

If you want vents on the hood save yourself some time and money and just get the gt4 hood.

no its not called a gt4 hood, what i posted was a hood scoop.

Im just putting it out there. I dont know everyone seems to be in the safe zone in exterior modding. Like that matte black wide bodykit celica that was in a thread before, i rekon that looked hot. If i had the money i would experiment. I just love the dirty "i dont give a crap" drift spec look of a car, even tho front wheel celicas cant drift.

Well man, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I honestly think it looks terrible as its probably a $15 hood scoop that was supposed to be added to the hood/smoothed/color matched not just riveted down. Its the kind of product that is sold with the words "adds the look of performance." Most of us want function/style that's why people were saying to invest in the gt4 hood..it adds style and function if you were too add a turbo.

Just my .02

Absolutely - I wonder sometimes why people go to the expense of doing that as it's not just changing the hood that's required to do a proper job. If it were me, I'd save up and buy a GT4 instead wink.gif

Some of us don't have the luxury of buying a GT4 - availability and money is an issue, so we here in the USA do our best to admire the GT4

My humble apologies....I'd forgotten the ST205 wasn't officially imported into the U.S, so of course availablity is much more limited and price at a premium. It therefore does now make sense wink.gif

That tacked on scoop is the definition of "ricer." It looks absolutely horrible! Why would anyone even consider doing that too their car? Why don't you go add on some tacky 5 foot aluminum wing and paint the hubcaps bright green? Of course its your car, so if you like it, put it on. This is my opinion.

Go with what you feel. If you know you are going to like it no matter what others say then do it. But if you seriously want our opinions, most of us are going to say "No", simply for the fact that it stands out too much. Most of us like to either play it safe, or have grown into the acquired taste of pure "JDM", which means the car is going to have that "Stock" look. Also, it doesn't really flow well with the car, but I am sure if you truly wanted it on there, you could do a color scheme to make it all look well.

There's my answer.
