I have a TRD shift knob. Leather. Looks new. I want a stock shift knob, leather, like new condition. Even trade.
Edit: I prefer to trade, but you can also buy my TRD shifter for $45 shipped to any continental US address. This post has been edited by dgbldr: May 22, 2009 - 12:26 AM |

Here is the order of dibs:
NgoFcukinWay - waiting for pictures I will be taking the first stock one in acceptable shape. Here's the TRD one. Please, remember the TRD knob is basically in new condition and your stock one needs to be the same. If yours is the original with 150k miles on it, no, I'm not interested. I already have one like that ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by dgbldr: Apr 26, 2009 - 3:00 PM |

IMPORTANT:
If your knob looks like plastic and has no stitching, it IS plastic. I am looking for a stock LEATHER knob. You can tell leather by the stitching. |

just so there is no confusion... that knob is intended for a TRD quickshifter which is shorter than the stock shifter... using that knob will put your shift a little higher but not by much...

actually you are causing more confusion, the TRD shift knob sinks all the way down the shaft and the threading is on the very top of the knob, NOT at the opening unlike the stock knob. TRD shift knob sits lower not higher. To explain my point the bottom of the knob after it is screwed on sits closer to where the stock shaft bends. this is the reason why you cannot run the stock knob ring and why my friends think I have a short shifter. The stock knob looks really high up there. Also, my shift boot is so low that there is too much leftover, unlike the stock knob the shift boot is stretched.

trdproven is correct.
pittfirefighter is wrong. I tried this knob on my stock shifter and the top of the knob, where your hand sits, is exactly at the same level as stock. You can use it on regular or short shifters. It doesn't change the handhold location. |

hey so i have a leather trd shift knob. Now my problem is that the knob is loose and flimsly. It seems like the thread on the inside of the knob does not grab onto the thread of the stock shifter. Is it because it is not intended for it. I tried using teflon tape but that doesnt work. then i tried using regular tape and wrapped it around the stock shift threading and the trd knob still moves around when i shift hard. Can anybody help

Aside from that, TRD shortshifter might be your only option. Cheers |

hey so i have a leather trd shift knob. Now my problem is that the knob is loose and flimsly. My TRD knob fits very tight and secure on my stock shifter. Either your shifter or your knob is screwed up. Or both. It should be pretty obvious if the thread on the shifter is worn or damaged. If not, then the knob is damaged. You can check the knob with a metric bolt of the correct size, I believe it's 12mm thread IIRC. |

your threading is bad, i believe the thread is only plastic.

Yes the thread is plastic and if someone tried to force it onto a non-Toyota shifter, it would get trashed.

ya threading on the inside of the the knob is plastic. Well i just screwed it on more with my hand and i think it got tighter. So i think ill be fine for now. if not then ill have to figure something out

If you still have your knob, I may be interested.
I have a stock one with 110k on it, however the first owner (had it from 0-99k) was female and didn't take the car over 3k RPMS (thus, almost no wear on the knob itself). Since I have had it, I've given it washings and put vinyl/plastic protector on it once every 2 weeks. These are the only pictures I have of it, and aren't really close ups. However, I can guarantee that it's not faded or messed up in any way. When I get a chance, I'll take better pictures for you. ![]() ![]() Anyways, let me know if you want to do a trade. Thanks, -TC EDIT: Er, You want the stock leather shift knob? I didn't know there was one. This is off of a '94 GT with every package available for the time. -TC This post has been edited by razor7: May 25, 2009 - 9:41 PM -------------------- Live your life for yourself. You want the stock leather shift knob? I didn't know there was one. By the number of PMs I get, apparently most folks here have never seen one. It looks like the TRD, but only about half as tall. Same stitching pattern. My 96 vert came with it. Not sure what years or options came with it. |
