Two years ago doGGy installed on my 7AFE his famous turbo kit (http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=44390). I have received for 100% more power to my 7AFE... amazing experience. Now it's time to move forward again. I want more power so I have officially started "performance upgrade - stage II". For now just few teaser details for you wink.gif :

aim: swap fully build 3SGTE
engine management: ViPEC V44
performance: as much as power can FWD handle wink.gif
more details: secret... (so far wink.gif )
target date: first of August 2009 (so 3 months to go...)

...and at last first cellphone pic smile.gif :

stay tuned... biggrin.gif

It will be for sale. With engine as is or sell out by parts... depends on interest. However must go when project is finished.

Folks, thanks for comments and support.

To reko: My budget is $12500 and will be spend completely...
To j0e_p3t: I'm afraid so smile.gif. I just need more power... wink.gif
To robby: Thank you so much Robby. I appreciate that a lot. There are still some parts I need (like performance clutch etc) so I let you know...
To supershannon77: More details? Hmmm... What about hints like Eagle, Wiseco, Cometic... wink.gif
To Shigexile: smile.gif true is I have been planning maintenance on engine for many months... but since doGGy is not responding to my mails and found guy who will help with tune-up here.... I had not much choices wink.gif
To FunkySR: Thanks... I will try to keep you posed here. But... still have feeling nothing much is worth to say biggrin.gif wink.gif
To AnaXyd: I can't wait for "swap day" to see it live smile.gif
To Batman722: you are right... finally... FINALLY! biggrin.gif
To 808celica: I hope not wink.gif

Right... for about $2800 you should have complete 250HP engine in your hands... than swap and tune up... plus some small things you need to complete it... I believe total would be somewhere around $6000.

From my understanding, you're turbo'ing a 3S-GTE? I thought that wasn't possible because of weak internals...

...but I'm sure I read the posts wrong, it's almost 2 in the morning.

I have bought 3rd gen 3SGE. Engine will be disassembled, cleaned, rebored and forged internals will be used. Than turbocharged... so finally I will have fully build 3SGTE capable to hold 600HP*. I want to be sure what I have inside and do not re-seal o re-build engine each 2 years...

*it will finally run less so do not panic wink.gif

Im not doubting you, but how much HP are you aiming for? And a question to your answer. Wont there be wheelspin?

My aim is not clear so far... Engine will be definitely tuned in two-three steps (engine running-up will be at 250-300bhp about). When car will be running tuned to the max depends on budget. I do not want run fully tuned car on stock ST brakes. So before that I want brake upgrade, install some more braces to make car body more stiff and buy wider tires. That's bit about aim... and wheel spin? We will see... I have great exemplars here to follow and learn from smile.gif

Batman722: 335whp
Alan: 370bhp (~315whp)
Presure2: 307whp

What are your reasons for starting with a 3SGE over a 3SGTE?

To buy 3rd gen 3SGTE here is impossible... (cuz ST205 was not officially for sale here). There are available only some 2nd gen 3SGTEs from ST185 for price like $2000-2500. I had a lot of discussions with my technician here and finally decided for buying 129kW 3rd gen. 3SGE, rebuild and turbo it. Price of 3SGE like that is about $1000 here. That is the main reason why.

27th of July, 2009... final update:
with almost tears in my eyes I must say it's over. Another two tries to get useful engine and nothing. I can not handle that anymore. My technician is not able to hold budget, timing and what we have agreed. So I have spend $6750 for parts so far but it's useless now...now I must think what to do. you must be able to pick a 3S-GE or crank up from a breaker or sumat in Germany, just a quick trip over the border

Unfortunately it is not frown.gif. It's balanced different and it's thicker and if I remember right has also different number of flywheel nuts.

You are knocking on the WRONG doors Martin, if you spent so much - and still have nothing... I did Marchius swap for less amount of money including Caldina ST246 4gen 3SGTE motor, Mega squirt ECU, Custom FMIC, Full 3' exhaust, Tune-up, and custom Clutch...

If you told me - i would sourched you atleast 3 motors.... frown.gif But you never mentioned me about this project....

About 3SGE engines - last one i sold - price for it was 400$ including Titanium header by fujitsubo, and engine was in perfect condition with 80K km...

You can always go and buy 2gen 3SGE and go crazy with it...

If you need any help Martin - let me know... My shedule is super busy still - but i will do my best if you need something.

Thanks folks.. now I'm just calculating what next. Half of my budged is gone (or let's say in parts I'm not sure I can use) and thinking what is the best way now. I still want more than 200HP and still do not want to give everything up. I hope there will be results soon...

To doGGy: Romas, I gave you some messages on April this year to confirm you start working on my car on May but you haven't answered. I just assumed you are oveloded with work so you just have no time. So I made decision. Wrong decision. Now I must deal with that kindasad.gif. I will send you message again and we try to figure out something. Shall we? smile.gif

Shall we? smile.gif

No problem Martin! No problem at all!!! as i presume you are now not in a hurry - so we will figure out somthing definantly! Email me wink.gif

Unfortunately it is not . It's balanced different and it's thicker and if I remember right has also different number of flywheel nuts.

I think you might be getting confused with the blacktop 3sge. the redtop is still 6 nuts and blacktop is 8 or something like that, but I could be wrong?

I really hope you get something figured out! I know you'll never get your money back for the work done to the motor, but after you get everything done, you'll surely be able to sell some of those parts to recover some of your losses. At least I hope so, for your sake. Best of luck to you! I was hoping after you got this done, it might be the next "featured ride."
