I am just curious what essential tools do you guys always carry in your car? What size wrench, etc...
I used to carry a small tool box but it's occupying space so I want to carry less but just the most important tools.

I usually carry a slip joint pliers, a few screwdrivers. I intend to get some kind of a set that has some jumper cables, a 10/12/14 socket and ratchet, and a few other things though....

small adjustable wrench and jumper cables. the 10mm, 12mm, and 14mm, are also a good idea. on top of that get AAA, the you don't need tools.

You're going to need more than that with the ford you have. Its best to just strap a rolling toolbox to the back... tongue.gif

3/8" ratchet set (6mm-19 + 6" extension), multi-head screwdriver, LED flashlight. They all fit in the OEM tool bag in the frunk.

besides the factory tool set (ie. jack and tire iron) the only other thing i carry is a pair of jumper cables and a little zippered tool set with a few ratchets, sockets, allen keys, and screwdrivers tucked away inside the compartment where the stock jack is located.

A screwdriver, some razors, and an 11mm ratcheting wrench in the green car... my tool box is in a different car right now.

Essentials I would say probably
3/4" ratchet
a few different size extensions
sockets 8, 10, 12, 14, 17, 18, 19mm
wrenches of the same size assortment
screw driver w/ changeable heads
a pry bar
a small and large adjustable wrench

10mm sockets disappear into thin air. Whenever I need one I can't find one. I own about a dozen in different sizes (6pt, 12pt, deep socket, etc.) and all are missing somewhere...

I'm surprised most of you guys carry that many supplies. My supply extends to my cell phone and the OEM stuff under the trunk carpet. kindasad.gif

I did just realize that I have two 12mm socket wrenches stuck in my hatch. Does that count? laugh.gif

I forgot to mention that there was a crappy socket wrench in my engine bay for quite a while without me even knowing lol (previous owner) I guess that counts, right?

At least you got a free wrench out of the deal. All I had under the hood (frunk) was a couple acorn shells and 17 cents.

adjustable wrench, 12v air compressor (it takes forever but it's tiny and useful,) jumper cables, philips/flathead screwdriver, cell phone charger, oil, paper towels and windex.

more importantly: water, emergency blanket, and high calorie breakfast bars. tools to keep me going if something unforeseen happens.

As far as me personally, I stopped carrying tools. There comes a point in time when you realize there is only so much that you could possibly fix or that could possibly break on the side of the road. I always end up having something or other laying around in the car but nothing specific. Just maybe an 11mm in case a t-bolt clamp needs to be tightened, maybe some electrical tape, pliers and zipties? random stuff that might come on handy that i dont feel like digging though my tool box whenever i want to use it.
