***Update-6-29***
I need to buy a new header, my oem is horribly cracked w/a half-assed weld job, and the heat shield is cracked and missing half the bolts. I've searched the site and found that most of you have bought the ebay aftermarket header(typically for the corolla), and have to do some modifications to make it fit(i.e. welding an extra piece of pipe, making a second bung hole for the second o2 sensor). That's all fine with me if I absolutely have to, but was wondering if anyone has purchased the one from M2 Performance: http://www.m2performance.net/product/produ...?productid=5932 Supposedly it's just for the Celica, or are there still mods as mentioned above? I'm not sure I even have the second o2 sensor as I have not been able to get under my car yet, and I have only an all stock 1.8 ST engine. Ideally I'd still like to be able to pass emissions though, so I don't know if this modification is worth the hassle if I can't pass emissions without a stock header. Thanks for any info you guys can share! This post has been edited by celicakitten: Jun 29, 2012 - 4:52 PM -------------------- 2004 Celica GT-2zz w/6-speed swap

the 2nd bung is usually for the Cali Spec Celicas because there is an upper and lower catalytic. On non-cali spec its only on the header so once you change to aftermarket header you have no catalytic at all left. but like my header, there is an O2 sensor hole for it and there is a 2nd fitting just below it, but i don't need it for this 5sfe. never heard of 5sfe header needing mods besides if its cali spec or for another 5sfe.

That's why I'm not sure, as I live in Las Vegas(and the car was originally sold in Nevada) it could have very well been originally destined for California, and we have the same emission laws here too. I also have the 7AFE, and in this guide: http://www.6gc.net/howto/install_7afe_header it explains how to mod for the second O2 sensor. for 125 i say go for it and find out if its any good. you cant buy the material for that cheap. That's what I was thinking too, and if it's a direct bolt on it will save me the cash to have it welded at a shop. I just hoped that someone else here purchased it and had some input. honestly we are SOL when it comes to exhaust aftermarket support. our suspension support is great though. but in your case, why not try it. I wish DC made some for our cars. I need them in my life. I tried contacting them about it but they won't create it.

I tried contacting them about it but they won't create it. Cool cause my suspension is next! As for the exhaust manifold update. Ordered the parts and received them, check. Paint and heat wrap, in progress. Problem areas, I can't for the life of me get ONE LAST bolt from the old manifold out of the block, and I tried the pb blaster stuff.........soooo what's the last resort since I stripped the threadings off and the bolt top itself broke off??? Also have another bolt like that from the manifold connected to the downpipe, and the second one won't budge either. Not really a big deal if I can lift the car higher then I'd be able to manuever the whole part of the exhaust out, but right now it's sorta stuck. I know this may seem like a no brainer, but this is my first major modification and could use all the help I can get(in detail!), that's why I'm here!!! ![]() -------------------- 2004 Celica GT-2zz w/6-speed swap

covered many times, by getting an aftermarket header (assuming you have a GT not sure about the ST) but it eliminates the cat on the stock one, because the 1st cat is part of the stock header. bolt on exhausts i believe all is left is from 5zigen. Greddy is near impossible and youre left with welding one together. you can try to get an ST202 exhaust, Japan has many different brands that will bolt.

I can truly say you need to get a 5sfe ebay header. 4-1 - its really what we only have. you can use a 3sge header but it becomes more work cus you gotta pipe the rest to meet your exhaust. i have a spare 5zigen exhaust but would probably cost like 200 bucks or so to ship it your way, even comes with a test pipe if you need it. I noticed you are in cali so deleting the 1st cat, would put you in a position where I cannot guarantee you can pass cali smog test. just check anywhere online for the 5zigen bolt on, i remember there was a thread that mentioned someone had the site that had it available

I'm still thinking of selling my spare 5zigen bolt on exhaust, looks similar to a greddy SP1, I have pics all over this site on my two exhausts. I have not decided to sell it YET cus shipping alone is roughly 200 to ship overseas. Im in Guam - US Territory out in the Pacific, near to Australia, near to Philippines, Near to Japan, closest to US State Hawaii - if you dont know where Guam is.
I am currently running the greddy sp2, they are a very very very rare item, that if you found someone selling it on this forum, its really who cares about the price to get it. I'd check these forums everyday, craigslist, Japan Auctions (nengun), and ebay. According to all online vendors they do not have it in stock anymore. Only god knows if local stores still have them. Heck I even did a filter search for the keyword greddy on this forum to asked everyone who owned one to sell theirs, LOL. Its been said on one thread that an ST202 (3sge) exhaust bolts up to our ST204s (7afe/5sfe) because thats more options for you for N/A exhausts like Kakimoto, Fujitsubo, etc. - whatever Japan has for exhausts I'm confident as well it would fit, but if it doesn't that would be a minor piping and weld job for any muffler shop, as it would utilize/follow the same tunnel under the car for the most part for our FWD. If its too long cut, reweld, bolt on. if its too short, cut, add piping, reweld, bolt on. alot of people are also picky about how the muffler mounts exactly for our cars (height mounted, protruding distance from the bumper sticking in our out, hangers) so that takes care of it for the most part, the welding part people don't mind. Just some ideas for you. This post has been edited by trdproven: Jul 11, 2012 - 5:51 PM -------------------- 94 Celica GT

It will bolt up. The cali spec 5sfe is the same as the fed 5sfe, but there is more emission controlled stuff on the cali spec. The left or right hand drive does not matter with the exhausts, and he has the 5sfe because it most likely the original engine in the car when he got it. also for example would this bolt up to our motors? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Toyota-Celica-ST20...048&vxp=mtr Yes, that will bolt up |

QUOTE also for example would this bolt up to our motors? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Toyota-Celica-ST20...048&vxp=mtr you should not get a 3sgTe exhaust because thats too big for N/A power. but for that exhaust manifold on ebay, I saw a GT on here with that same header design and it was from a 3sge, because 5sfe aftermarket headers is distinct is how I can tell the difference. One thing I have to point out, look at the bottom the collector ends up with two, this is a 4-2-1 header setup so you will need that 2nd pipe for the 3sge as well, the 5sfe header is a 4-1 and bolts on already. I would just get the ebay Surewin header, sold by many vendors, its really the only option the 5s has and is bolt-on. something like this to connect to that 3sge header from that link, more to buy or wtvr fabricate, more to worry if you get that ebay one. also have to think about what you are going to do with that sensor hole, if thats the O2 sensor down there, since I don't see on the header itself, you may have to extend wiring. ![]() This post has been edited by trdproven: Jul 12, 2012 - 7:18 PM -------------------- 94 Celica GT

ok so basically what ur saying if i buy that ebay header u recommended it will have an 02 sensor outlet and it will bolt up to 3sge aftermarket exhaust. and it will eliminate 1 of my cats? or both? im really sorry i get confused easily and this is my first celica so im new but i love it and today i got a new koyo oem radiator and it works better than the stock no cracks no leaks and its thicker too. the stock 1 is 500 dollars from toyota talk about over priced.

a 5sfe has a cat on the stock header manifold and if you have a cali spec, there should be another cat on the downpipe. The 5sfe header starts as a 4-1 and then connects to a single outlet downpipe which is the "1" part, and then continues to the resonator pipe and then finally the muffler, if you get a 3sge header, you have to worry about where the O2 sensor is so thats one worry. the 2nd worry is that the stock 5s downpipe will not bolt up because a 3sge is a 4-2-1 header set up thus the pic that i posted showing the two outlets. the simplest way to handle this purchase is just to get a 5s header because the 3sge exhaust design is different until the b pipe/downpipe. from there on, the catback (piping after bottom cat) should be the same for both st202 and st204.
to make it more simpler for you, get a 5s header on ebay not a 3s. redo your downpipe to 2.25, and then get a bolt on exhaust 2.25 piping size w. a good resonator or get it fabbed. when I meant ebay header, not the ebay header you posted thats a 3s but an ebay header for the 5s. there is no straight advantage on getting a 3s header for the 5s really and you make the install more confusing or 2 things to buy. Although the 5s header is not branded and is the most common construction for affordable aftermarket headers, its the best option for you and makes it the most easiest to install. Here is the link below, just scroll down to see them. I'm pretty confident they are manufactured from the same factory.
