Motorsportpartz or Tuningpros headers direct bolt on?, How much gains to expect with open air intake Options

I'm about to buy this or this header to add a little more noise and a little more punch with a good look under the hood.

Will these be a direct bolt on? Will both the o2 sensors hook up or does my Celica 7afe only had 1 o2 sensor?

it will bolt to the head, but the downpipe will need modification.

I'm pretty sure the tuning pros headers are from ebay. I have those exact headers on my car . There actually pretty ****ty . The material is crap . I have to rethread a couple of bolt holes on the header itself because the engine rattled it around so much it stripped the thread lol. If you still choose 40 doller headers from eBay , you will need to use half of your stock down pipe, and the half of the down pipe that came w the headers ( the part w the co2 sensor. Or else the pro tuning headers down pipe won't work . I'd go legit now that I've gone the other rout haha

How many gains do you guys think i might expect from different headers in combination with an open air intake? I don't want to change the rest of the exhaust btw.
I prefer a 4-2-1 design because i don't want to loose too much in the low's and mid's.

Maybe if you did a header, full exhaust, and air intake you might gain 10 hp. That's being optimistic I'd think. Only way to know for sure is to dyno before and after.

It's a 7afe so it wouldn't even be 5hp sadly

I'm going to tell you from experience, when I put on my eBay tuning pros headers, it was loud as ****! As the stock headers have a cat built in. The tuning pros is just straight pipe. I also only have one cat after changing my headers and my exhaust piping from 2.0 to 3.0. The piping gives a real deep throaty sound. Real nice. As for gain, I had my cat back exhaust on before I installed the headers . I felt a lil bit torque loss. But in the higher gears it was def better. Maybe 10 hp

In Holland we don't have less the 95 octane. We also have 98 octane and when i go to German i can buy Shell Vpower 100 with octane 100.

Does someone has a picture of the original header and downpipe?

Are the specs of the headers right at least? I´m especially curious about the inlet/outlet. They give me this specs:

i do have specs for outlet on the b-pipe on my other comp which is currently not working. i'll get them to you asap. if i remember. pm me in a week or so or just bug me till i tell you

No. Probably more like 6 - 7 I'd say tops. You only get a couple HP from the intake and the header doesn't do much either.

if its pre 96 then look under the distributor for a bolt thats holding it. loosten the bolt that you can turn the distributor by hand. stick a wire in the diagnostic box jumpering Te and E1. the timing light should show you at 10 degrees BTDC. now turn the distributor clockwise and you will see the timing advance. running a 7A-FE at about 14-15 degrees BTDC will bake a huge change, however you must run a higher octane rating fuel.

I have a Europe 7AFE, it's from 1998, but still OBDI so the jumpering method should be it.
But to change the timing i always thought you have to turn the distributor cap, but thats not it, you have to turn the distribituor itself?!
Which is the minimum octane i should use when i advance the timing to 14 degress BTDC? Will it damage my engine anyway?

yeah its not the cap, you turn the entire distributor. your ratings are different so im not sure what number to use. I suggest the highest for regular pump gas. thats our 91 or 92 depending on states

That's our 95RON. I always use that. There a little to non fuel stations in our country where we can get less then 95RON. There's also a possibility to get 98RON (93-94AKI) but thats a bit more difficult already.

So when i change the timing that shouldn't be a problem?

And one additional question. Our cars do have knock sensors? Then advancing the timing a bit shouldn't be a problem at all i'd say?

I have to add that i'm a N00B...took a look underneath the hood today...what do i have??? Yes a 4-2-1 OEM Toyota header! So that would be maybe 1-2 hp gains from a bit better designed header!
