Hello friendly 6GC Community and other guest of this site!

Bit of background info =)

I've recently got my license (so im young) and as my first car I got a Celica SX redface.gif

The car was bought new from the dealer and has been in our family for the whole time. At least I can say that I trust the previous owners of the car biggrin.gif Thecar has been serviced regularly and has hit 330,000kms or so... (quite a few in my opinion). The car drives fine and has no problems what so ever. Only some faded paint and a few scratches and dents here and there. I have done (IMO) quite a bit of work on it. And i will post it all in this one go, and continue along.

My car when I first got it smile.gif

So yeah it needs A LOT of work to it in my opinion...

Of course im not going for those radical and overdone bodykits, like your Vielside kits and all that jizz jazz. I reckon those look over the top and sorta make you say, "0.0 GAY."

So me being simple as possible decided to remove the rear spoiler and to me it just adds more aggression to the car.

Bit of DIY HOME work and the spoiler was off and the holes were bog filled. smile.gif I didnt paint the car until about 3 months down the road.

After a few months of driving this fun car I made a decision to respray it.

Now i know I'm going to get hated on and everyone will say "What the hell did you do this for" and blah blah blah.

I resprayed it in the original colour. Greeny torquise. I like that colour. But i resprayed it outside... in the open.

Hate me all you want.

Yes it was a stupid mistake and i will never do it again. I did have a bit of dust and all in the clear coat. But its not perfect. But compared to the old faded paint i really happy. It cost me only $350!

During painting/Sunburnt/After Painting

So SHINY! 0.0

Sooo now im rolling around in my new HOME JOB painted celica..

.
..
...
.....
.......
.........

Don't you ever hop in your car and say. I need to do something. Lets spice it up. And then you go do it and everything goes soo well until a big little complication throws everything off?

LIKE THIS??!?!?!

Yes. I decided to change my steering wheel. I thought a steering comes off by removing the centre nut, and off you go. Well my car had for some reason a grub screw underneath the steering column holding it in. And being me, I grinded off the wheel and realised what a mess i have caused.

But all was good and a new steering wheel was put on. smile.gif

I also followed the yellowness of the new wheel and painted my dash to follow...

Looks ok IMO?

I shall be rolling like this for a while!

Thanks for reading and I shall continue on updating!

not a huge fan of yellow, but looks good, and the paint job on the tailgate looks awesome!, if I were you id get rid of the antenna at the same time.
I want to do a custom duckbill, delete the antenna, LED taillight and do a custom diffuser on the rear bumper as far as the rear of the car smile.gif hopefully I inspired you smile.gif and because of your cars color carbon fiber accents wouldn't look bad at all wink.gif

HAHA! I was planning to paint the car black, so yellow would of stood out really nice... But then i realised how difficult it would to do a proper respray frown.gif

Here's a little update on whats changed in and on my celica!

Bought a pod filter, with some piping and ran it to my fender, following the right up that urbandork did.

Thread here:
http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=21648

SUCKING IN THE COOLEST AIR POSSIBLE!!
Where it sits now.

Close up.

Love the pod sound, especially in 3rd gear biggrin.gif

In addition, i got brand new wheels!! A full set! and keeping it a legal 35% tint all round biggrin.gif

Jks i picked up some hub caps from super cheap auto. Bargain for only 15 dollars for the set.

Also i found some black gutter paint and repainted the inside of my interior, whilst changing the steering wheel to a better and slimmer SAAS steering wheel.

LOOKS BETTER?!

BASSSS DROPPP WOBWOBWOBWOB!
2x12" Apline S Subs biggrin.gif And a 850W Mono Block to Power it.

Installed Some ebay HID's with White LED Parkers to match.

And found this sort of Scratched cannon muffler on the side of the road.

It was left at the front of this guys house that had a WRX sitting at the front with what looks like a shiny new muffler.
Maybe it was off that?

Thats it for now.

Bought some 194 LED bulbs, and some Clear Sidemarkers with Matching Clear Indicators as well!

Hopefully to see them soon smile.gif

Till then!

Actually the coolest air would be directly outside of the car, but that's just tacky. tongue.gif

I think what happened is that muffler was held onto a Civic with zip-ties and they finally gave way.

Do they make a clear third brake light or we have to do some diy? I will see how the car looks once the car has the spacers then may decide on ss3 kit biggrin.gif

The Clear third brake is made by Wolfie on this forum smile.gif
The seem expensive for what they are, BUT he does an AMAZING job and it is well worth the money. It looks just like it was made by Toyota with part numbers and everything.
Thread.
This mod, takes literally 30mins to finish.
All you do is take the boot/hatch trim off, undo the bolts holding the brake light assembly in. Remove the assembly, pry off the red lens and put on the Clear. then reassemble.
Once done, replace the Clear/Yellow bulb with a T10 Multi-RED LED and the difference is amazing.

Your interior looks amazing with those on dash gauges! I'm curious to know where and how much you paid for them.

Those spacers also look pretty bad ass smile.gif

I've been trying a few cars.... Don't do it, it's bad tongue.gif Celica always comes back out on top!

I'm with 1MZ/BEAMS/3S-GTE.... Whatever suits your driving style and future ambitions best.

Does WA have mod plate restrictions for P platers?

I really want 3sgte swap. Just i wont be able to do it. Need a workshop to handle mad turbo swap. But the wait for it is mid feb next year until they start the car frown.gif

Over here p platers are allowed anything ahaha! Just need to have modification permits and follow the modding laws.

What about just replacing the head gasket...? That's the most feasible option cost wise. Do it yourself and it won't cost over $100.

What he said. Only it's for sure more than 100 bucks once you add up the fluids, gasket set, timing belt, tensioner, etc...but still. Just fix it. It only takes a couple days (if you're doing it right ie... sending the head to a machine shop to get resurfaced).

Well, just checked and the entire head gasket set is under $60 shipped off Rock Auto. So, just doing that and including fluids it'll be under $100. tongue.gif Might as well do timing, it's only another $40 or so for the timing set. Still well under $200 to do everything yourself and having the head resurfaced.

Thanks for the replies guys! Im still unsure on what to do atm, but really would like to do a 3s swap smile.gif been reading around the forums and have been tempted by other owners that have done the swap.

@bsamps, just a quick question does the stock 5s tranny bolt to a 3sgte? (Considering that you've done the swap)

I have searched around the forum for this and everyone says yes but some toyota nerd nearby where i live thinks not; so yeah.

Thanks smile.gif

Yes, the S54 manual tranny that comes with the 5S will bolt-on with no problems AND should be fine with a 3SGTE as long as you aren't putting down crazy amounts of horsepower or torque.

You have to get a hybrid clutch setup. Needs to have 5sfe clutch spline with 3sgte pressure plate. Spec makes this clutch as well as other brands. I'm sure there are other guys on here that can chime in with the other clutch companies that make the hybrid kit. I'm just partial to Spec.

Hey guys been a long time since last post... LOL !

Anyway down to business massive update!

My 6gc currently looking the biz still on stockies hahaha and HG all fixed lol (was fixed a very long time ago)

http://i1029.photobucket.com/albums/y355/r...6551612159.jpeg

and to add i also got a GT Four

http://i1029.photobucket.com/albums/y355/r...0912_161814.jpg

Has Fmic, 3" exhaust, some ok looking wheels and some little goodies in the car. Am living the life...

BUTTTTTTTTT that was very short lived... While out cruising car started getting smokey... got home and checked it out... some internal damage has been done. And later taken to a shop found out cylinder 3 has taken some damage to the piston ring. Rebuild coming on!

SKIP SEVERAL MONTHS

Car is in shop
Parts a rolling through

Parts obtained-

BLOCK FULLY REMACHINED
HEAD FULLY MACHINED

CP PISTONS
SHWAJFAKSMCAK FORGED RODS shotpeened (sorry forgot the german brand)
COMETIC METAL HG
KING RACING Bearings
BC RACING 264 CAMS
TITANIUM VALVE SPRINGS/RETAINERS
HKS ADJ CAM GEARS
ARP HEADSTUDS
ARP MAIN STUDS

Part to be obtained-
GTX 3582R .82
Custom exhaust manifold
Tial 44m ext wastegate W/Screamer
Custom intake manifold with some port and polish hopefully

so far thats what i can remember atm sorry guys its very scrambled. Been busy with many things

Progress atm is engine is nearly finished building, engine bay all nicely cleaned down. deleted aircon/all pipes ripped out. Still thinking to block off the EGR but not main concern atm.

Also slowly figuring out my suspension setup but saving up for some BC's BR coils, had them on my 6gc and they still havent failed me so im heading that path probably.

Thanks for the read!
