Good job on tastefully modifying your Civic, I'll sure you'll do great with a Celica then.
 As long as it's rust free and only minor cosmetic or mechanical problems you should be ok. On OBDI models you can check any codes in just a few minutes, so that's something else to check if it's clean but has a CEL.
