A Celica or any other Toyota FWD car has the shift mechanism coming out of
the back of the tranny, near the firewall. The cables come from the shifter and connect to it. An MR2 tranny has the mechanism on the front of the tranny, so they would be near the radiator in a Celica....... How are the shift cables going to reach that? The MR2 has them on the opposite side, because the shift cables come out the firewall behind the driver and connect to the front of the tranny..... You can convert the tranny to FWD mechanism, but it is difficult and expensive. (at least to do it right it is!) The Solara V6 FWD 5 speed is the same as an MR2 turbo tranny, but has the mechanism in the right place.... Do you see what I am saying? I might have a picture that I can show you... Carlc this is what someone told me, is it true. -------------------- |
