Whats the differece between an oil temperature guage and oil pressure guage?
In terms of which one has the most meaning to the driver? I know that the oil takes longer to heat up than the engine itself but want to know the exact time the oil will do its job properly, so that i can give my car a blat without worring that the oil isnt warm enough. Which guage should i get for my car? This post has been edited by beno: May 25, 2006 - 4:33 PM |

beno, the quick description is this:
oi pressure...lets you know that the oiling system in the engine is working. if the gauge goes to 0, your screwed. oil temp, will tell you when your oil is warm, and more importantly, if it gets too hot. overly hot oil breaks down, and does not protect your engine. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)
