I hear a clunk when I put my Celica in gear and let of the clutch. I just wanna hear if somebody got a quick dianose for this problem. It kinda sounds like when you release the clutch quickly. It happens more often when the car is cold. It can also happen if I let go of the throttle quickly. Could it be bad axels, motor mounts?

watch the engine while someone else starts the car. when my rear mount was bad (that one in the pic) my engine shook violently and in a kind of circular motion rather than just back and forth like it should.
again, it can't hurt to just replace or fill the mounts. then if the problem still exists at least you've ruled out that. my strange noises turned out to be a combination of the rear mount and just a loose bolt on the control arm when my car was making crunching noises while turning it was right after changing the suspension and the problem was that the top nut on that side was not tight enough -------------------- |
