Ok so I'm driving up the interstate yesterday morning and a strong sense of deja vu overwhelms me. Actually it was the fact the my 7a blew again..For the 2nd time in less than 4 months.
The engine the replaced my original one was using a fair amount of oil. I check it approx. 3 times a week and almost everytime it is low. I was putting an extra quart a week in it. I thought perhaps it was leaking, so I put a piece of carboard under it to check for leaks, but to no avail. I guess what had happened was the piston rings were not sealing very well and it was seeping into the combustion chamber. But who knows..I'm obviously not an expert on these things. The guy that installed it isn't a toyota expert, and I'm hoping he'll make good on the crappy engine he put in my car. I had no idea how many miles it had on it, and I doubt it was compression or leakdown tested. I'm pretty much SOL because I'm just a student and I'm between jobs.

I swear sometimes if I didnt have bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all.

take one of them apart and try to figure out the problem yourself. if nothing else you'll learn a lot in the process. I'd love to do that if I could find that kind of time
