here is a pic of a toyota 5sfe timing belt with ~100k on it..it came outta itchyb's old 5sfe.
this is the reason toyota recommends doing the timing belt every 60k. good stuff, heh heh.. ![]()

you don't have to change the tensioner but its recommended while you're in there, if the bearings in that go it'll make noise and eventually break and not hold tension in the belt causing it to slip or come off completely... so yeah, just change it. for the ST there is one tensioner and for the GT there are two, they come in the timing belt component kit
