Toyota makes engine overhaul kits for some engines. did you try looking for one from Toyota?
If you're rebuilding the motor in your car you're probably going to want/have to strip it right down to the block and replace all the main bearings and everything. In that case the right size bearings won't come in a kit, you need to use the cylinder bore and piston sizes that are stamped on the block and order the bearings you need for that particular engine. I have the engine pulled and in a friends garage. This friend is a service manager at a toyota dealership so im checking through him to see about gasket kits and whatnot. I didnt even think to look for an overhaul kit through the dealership tho, ill have to check with him on that one. anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do while im inside? Im thinking... -possible cylinder bore -complete gasket replacement -oil pump replacement (think its blown) -send crank out to machine shop -all new internals -head rebuild -change out clutch... -------------------- ![]() The question is not how far.
