Since I'm fan of history about WWII I have visited one of famous places - Eagle's nest. Our aim was not just to get there by bus but climb there by foot smile.gif. As you can see it's not short walk at all.

there is beautiful nature all around...

...and at last on a top biggrin.gif (as you can see it's full of tourists)

the bonus picture: a horse smile.gif... amazing animal.

Thanks for comments folks smile.gif. We went by car there from Prague. it's about 400kms (~250miles). So only fuel costs biggrin.gif. Whole walking was about 7.5kms (~4.6mile) but imagine you must handle rise about 700meters (~2300feet) because you must leave a car at 950 meters above sea level and trip took about 2hrs. I have been as well in Normandy two years ago to see everything I can (Omaha beach, Pointe du Hoc, Pegasus bridge, Mulberry harbour... everything smile.gif).

note: and what I have learned? Weather is tricky there... within few hours it can change from sunny through cloudy to heavy rain... so having a nice view is rally about luck.
